The Lost Wolf Princess

Chapter 8

Rose woke up in a black room, and to make it worse, her head was throbbing very painfully. She tried to sit up, but fell to the ground gasping for air.

She layed on her back and was finally able to catch her breath. She wondered who had kidnapped her. The whole Tiger Colony hated her so one of them could have done it.

But it could also be any one that dispised the Wolf Colony. Her head didn't hurt as bad, but it did throb a little. After waiting a little bit, she tried to sit up again. She succeeded but was breathing hard.

Her eyes had adjusted so she looked around. She could make out a shape in the far corner of the room. She couldn't tell what it was, and was frightened to go near it. All of the sudden, lights brightened the room, and blinded her for a few seconds.

Once her eyes had adjusted, she could see the shape was a little girl, and a little boy, curled up together, asleep.

Rose jumped as a loud voice echoed through the room, waking the children. They looked around the room, and their eyes landed on her. They looked terrified. Rose forced a smile. She wanted to them to know everything would be okay.

But she wasn't sure they would be okay herself.

"Well, well, well! What do we have here?", the booming voice asked.

The kids flinched when he spoke. Rose held her head high, trying to be brave for the kids.

She shouted, "What do you want!", as loud as she could.

The voice laughed. "It's nice to meet you to, Rose. I don't think you and the little brats have met. The girl is Lillie and the boy is Danny. They are your twin siblings."

Rose was shocked. She had siblings. And they were twins! She looked over at Lillie and Danny. They looked as shocked and scared as she felt.

Tears were pouring down Lillie's face. She jumped up and ran to her. She collapsed in Rose's arms.

"I'm so scared.", she whispered in Rose's ears. Then they heard a blood-curling scream and they turned to see a masked man holding a screaming Danny.

He had Danny in one arm and and a knife in the other hand. The man laughed and Rose recognized it. It was the voice!

"Leave him alone!", she screamed.

He laughed again. "I'm going to enjoy torturing you. And I'm going to start by killing your brother."

He raised the knife and Danny screamed again and tried to get away, but the man was to strong. He brought the knife down, and to Rose, it seemed as if everything happened in slow motion.

Lillie ran forward, but Rose grabbed her and wouldn't let go. As the knife got closer, she covered Lillie's eyes so she wouldn't have to see her brother get murdered.

She watched as the knife plunged into Danny's chest, and blood go everywhere.

She watched as the man laughed, and let Danny fall.

She saw Danny look up at her, tears and blood staining his cheeks, and blue eyes just like Rose's, before they closed and he was gone.

The man laughed again. He looked at Rose. His eyes shone through the mask. They were blood red, and hatred burned through them like fire.

Then he disappeared, and she released Lillie, to run to her lost brother.
