I was jarred roughly out of my slumber by a weight landing on top of me and two tiny voices, "wake up mama, up, up, up!"

I opened my eyes, squinting against the harsh morning light to see two pairs of mismatched eyes staring at me and two giant cheeky grins. I sat up and pushed the toddlers onto the bed and tickled them.

"Oh no you have woken the tickle monster!"

They squealed and wriggled beneath my fingers and the door to the bathroom opened to reveal Akashi wearing only a towel, his hair still damp from his shower. I blushed as I stared at his bare chest and he grinned over at me, well aware of what I was thinking from the increase of my heart beat.

"Daddy!" The two terrors rolled off the bed and jumped at Akashi who scooped them both up effortlessly and under his arms.

"What did I say about waking your mother up?"

"But we want to go to the zoo now!"

"It's too early, come let me make you some breakfast."

He walked over to me and kissed me.

"Morning beautiful, take a shower I will deal with these rascals."

After I had refreshed myself and changed into a comfortable pair of jeans and plain white tee I walked downstairs to see Sasuke and Takeru already digging into a plate of pancakes. Kagami and the hunters were also at the table, devouring heaped plates of bacon, sausages and eggs. I stood quietly in the door way watching the peaceful scene in front of me but my heart squeezed painfully when I rested my eyes on the twin boys. They looked to be about three years old but in reality they were only a little over six months.

I had been shocked to see them growing at such an abnormal rate and had asked Midorima to run some more tests but Kagami had pulled us aside to reassure us it was normal.

"Normal? They are only one month old and already are doing things that four month old children can do!"

I had screamed at Kagami and punched his chest and he had just stood still, allowing it until I calmed down.

"This is normal for hunter children. You were an Eve so you aged normally but for hunters, when they are born they age in reverse to how we do once we have reached maturity."

"You mean how one year for you is five in human years?"

Akashi had moved up and pulled me away from Kagami and stilled my hands.

"Exactly. Our children age five years for every one until they reach maturity. In less than four years they will be fully grown and then their bodies will cease to age, if all goes according to Midorima's calculations. They are indeed a perfect blend of hunter and vampire, no wonder the cult wants you so badly. To think that you could give birth and then four years later they would have powerful soldiers."

I was pulled back to the present when I felt a hand on my head. I looked up to see Murasakibara looking down at me, a smile on his face.

"I packed plenty of sweets for the trip Kuro-chin."

I smiled up at him as he ruffled my hair and moved into the kitchen. Akashi looked up from his cooking and beckoned me over to a plate of pancakes. I sat down and he lent down to kiss me on the head, his hand staying on my shoulder as I quickly ate my breakfast.

"Ah a tiger! Look it's a real tiger!" Sasuke cried out pulling his hands out of mine and Akashi's to run towards the railing and leaning in to look at the lions in the habitat in front of him. We followed slowly behind him, smiling at his excitement.
