"How about sleep?" Noelle laughed, returning her hands to her side.

"You need it. Look at your eyes!" He said hysterically, pointing at the prominent bags under her eyes.

"Shut the fuck up and carry me to my bed," She responded imperatively, widening her eyes at him.

"Yes sir. Anything for you." He bowed and gave her an artificial grin. In a swift motion, he put one arm under her legs and the other around her shoulders.

Noelle rested her head on Calum's shoulder as they made the short walk up to her bedroom.

"Which one is it?"

"This one," She mumbled in response, pointing her arm out.

She kept her eyes shut. The door handle made a high pitched noise and the door creaked open. She felt the warmth from Calum's body being replaced with the cold covers of her bed.

Calum moved the covers so that they cocooned around her body. He carefully moved her hair behind her ears and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

He felt fatigue wash over him as he slowly went down the stairs and over to the couch. After slipping off his shoes and jacket, he found a comfortable position on the small couch and closed his eyes. He knew that Noelle was safe and as far as he could tell she was okay and that let him fall asleep peacefully.

7th July 2015

23 days later

The morning sunlight had drowned out the darkness in the house. Noelle was awake before Calum and decided to try and make some breakfast, even though it was 2pm.

As she attempted to fry a few eggs and slices of bacon, she felt the weight of her problems take a seat on her shoulders, as well as her heart. It was obviously in a metaphorical way, but her body still felt drained. She didn't want to feel that way around Calum though, but she didn't have the energy to keep up a facade.

After serving up the food on two paper plates because she hadn't done any washing up, she made the quick decision to truthfully tell Calum how she felt. It was going to be difficult as Noelle didn't like to be serious about well, serious matters.

"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey...I think that's how the phrase goes," Noelle shouted as she entered the living room, waving the two plates in the air unceremoniously.

"I'm asleep," Calum said in a raspy tone as he rolled over.

"Do you want food?"

"Obviously." He speedily sat up and took the plate from Noelle.

"Two pieces of bacon and one egg! You are dating a millionaire. Is this what I get?" He cried, gripping the bacon and shoving it Noelle's face.

"Hey millionaire, fuck off then and go buy your own food," She laughed and stuck her tongue out at him.

"I love you."

-

Noelle didn't a chance to tell Calum what she wanted to tell him because as soon as he finished eating, he dragged her out of the house and to the nearest station.

"I want to explore the city with the girl I love. We can do whatever you want," He shouted as they came closer to the station.
