"Where would you like to go?" Calum asked Noelle when they met up backstage.

"I've got to go home."

"Please stay," He beseeched, pouting. Calum had to go back home in two days  so he wanted to spend every second he could with her.

"Where am I supposed to stay?"

"The ritz."

"You little fuck."

Calum grabbed Noelle's hand, intertwining his fingers with hers.

"Let's go."

They got into the back of the car and were driven to the hotel. When they arrived at the entrance to the hotel it was swarmed with paparazzi and fans. They all crowded around the car with cameras. Calum looked over at Noelle and tried to give her a reassuring smile as she looked slightly panicky.

"We'll go out and clear a path," Calum's security said and the two men left the car.

"This is your life. I forgot how crazy it is," Noelle said in awe.

Before Calum could respond, the security opened the car door and gestured for them to leave. Calum quickly grabbed Noelle's hand and climbed out of the car. The blinding flashes of paparazzi's cameras and sound of screaming fans was familiar to Calum and he really wasn't bothered by it. He pulled to his side to make sure she was safe and walked through the space made by security.

Once in the safety of the hotel, he went straight to the elevator to avoid having any other people bombard him and Noelle. He loved meeting fans but not when he was with people.

"Are you okay?" He asked her as soon as the elevator doors were closed.

"I'm fine."

"You're not having second thoughts, are you?"

"No, it's just a little different."

Calum feared the outcome of Noelle leaving him because of his chaotic life.
This was the first time he had ever been in love and he didn't know what to expect.

"You have to tell me why you disappeared for two weeks," Calum pointed out. Him and Noelle had spent an hour laying on his bed, eating pizza and talking about random things.

"Oh yeah, that." Noelle sighed. "My mum died over two years ago. It was lung cancer. Then when I was offline for two days, my dad died. He turned to alcohol to solve his problems a while ago and ruined his liver. The two weeks was me trying to deal with it."

Calum was not expecting that answer. He felt absolutely awful for getting her to tell him.

"How come you didn't mention it?" He propped himself up on his elbow and looked at her.

"My way of dealing with it is not talking about it." She smiled weakly up at him. If he had known he would have tried to make her feel better.

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," She sighed and sat up.

"I should have tried to make you feel better." Calum moved to sit beside her.

"You did. You made it bearable." Noelle turned her head and met his gaze.

"So who do you live with?"

"My brother."

"In Canal Warp?"

"Canary Wharf," Noelle giggled.

"I was close." Calum wrapped his arm around her and let her rest her head on his chest. They both kept up a conversation for about ten more minutes until Noelle fell asleep. Calum admired the way she looked so beautiful asleep, yet probably so unaware of it. (A/N the 1975)

He pulled the covers over both of their bodies and switched off the bedside lamp. He planted a soft kiss on her forehead and then rested his head onto the pillows. It wasn't long until he drifted into a deep sleep where he dreamt of a life where him and Noelle walked down the streets together and kissed randomly and where he wrote songs for her and where they were both happy and enamoured with each other and free.
