Ryder's POV:
I put a plaid picnic blanket inside the back of the pick up. I left the back open so I didn't have to keep opening it. I then went to the kitchen and whipped up some sandwiches and some fruit and put it in a basket I found. I brought it all out to the truck. Then i slipped a note under Ellie's door.I sat in the back of the pickup waiting for Ellie until she finally came.
"Oh my gosh....what is all this?" She asked, astonished. Then she smiled. "Just a picnic to thank you for the job." I smiled. She ran over and joined me.
I handed her a bottle of water and a paper plate. We both ate the sandwiches and all the fruit. After we ate, we stared at the stars.
"I've never seen so many stars in one sky." I smiled. She giggled. "That's why the country is Better than the city. There's no deadly gases harming the atmosphere and blocking the stars." She smiled. I stared into her eyes. Se had the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. They were vibrant and resembled an ocean.
My hand crept over to her hand and our fingers intertwined. She looked at our hands together for a moment and then let go.
"What's wrong?" I asked her. "Let's keep it professional, Ryder. Just friends?" She smiled. I nodded. "Sorry yeah you're right." I faked a chuckle. She thanked me and went back inside. I cleaned everything up and went to my room for a peaceful night of sleep.
But thoughts of Ellie filled my mind and it was nearly possible to sleep.
