A NEW FRIEND

"Jake wake up."

"Five more minutes."

"Okay fine."

My brother is a good person he has problems but he is a good person, jake is scared that i might get hurt and we cant find help so he always make sure i dont get hurt.
Jake is still asleep he is really tired i want to make him a gift but i dont have anything to make.
I want to go out side but i am a little scared, i will go outside for a little just a little bit and than i will come back.
*walks to the gate and raises it just a little*

Okay i am outside i want to go to the car, but will jake be mad...no he wont he promise.

"I am a little hungry maybe i should go back."

*starts walking to the car*

Wait there is someone over there...they are looking through the trash can.

"HELLO!"

"Oh my god hey are you alone!"

"No i have my brother."

"Can you help me!?"

"Yes come over here."

She start running to me it was a girl and she looked like my brother age.

"Wow hey buddy how old are you?"

"I am six, my name is james."

"Hi james my name is Melinda i am 14."

*kneels down to james level*

"Are you okay?"

"Yes it is just i...i have not seen anyone since it all started."

"My brother is still asleep but you can stay with us if you want to we have food and water and magic pills."

"Could i really stay."

"Yes i can ask my brother he always says yes to me."

"What is your brothers name?"

"His name oh thats easy its jake."

"Is it just you two, where are your parents?"

"I dont know only jake does."

"Oh i ugh i see."

"Lets go inside i am not suppose to be outside."

"Okay ya where do you live?"

"Right there see the gate we go under."

"Okay lets go than."

*starts walking to gate*

"Just slide your backpack under and than we both go under."

*throws backpack under and than james slides under than melinda*

"Okay we are friends now."

"Yes okay we are friends."

"I am going to wake up jake to make him say hi."

"Oh okay."

The little boy ran to the other room and i just stood here in the store as the entire floor was empty the chairs were broken and tables when i tuned to the door to see who came through i first saw was james
Than the brother, he was pretty scary looking i was nervous he came a little closer than stopped.

"So i am guessing you are living with us now."

He pulled me to a corner.

"Look honesty i would have given  you supplies and make you leave but jake needs a friend and i guess that is you and i need to go out side soon to look for certain things not food or water or meds we got a lot of that."

"I am sorry i am a little confused."

"His birthday is coming up and i want to leave to find a gift."

"Oh i see so i am like a baby-sitter."

"Yes yes you are."

"You really care about your brother dont you."

"Yes i do."

"Okay well i do my best to help out in an way i can."

"Okay good i am going to make some MREs for us 3."

"Okay."

*Walks back to the other room*

"You can stay?"

"Yes i can."

"Thats good."

"Lets go to the other room."

I follow james to the other room and see jake open 3 packets and move paper towels to make a bed
But there are only two.

"Hey jake why are there only two beds?"

"Oh ugh well one for james and one for you."

"Oh ugh thank you."

"No problem the food should be ready in 5 minutes."

"Jake what are we eating this time."

"Well you like the soup ones so you soup and me and whats your name again."

"Melinda."

"Me and melinda are eating some chicken thingy."

It looks like he does not even know what he is going to be eating these guys are a perfect duo.
