Electra’s POV

A week I had been here a whole week. I have been working on getting back to normal and so far I haven’t mentioned trying to go back again to the Doctor, something tells me he isn’t going to be so willing to do it this time around.

I was currently jogging through the Torchwood base. I had slowly worked my way up to a jog over the last few days and pretty soon I would be back to running. Thank God Time Lord DNA allows me to recover quickly.

I reached my room and went inside, I stripped off my clothes and went into the bathroom. That was another thing I hadn’t pushed, or rather the Doctor hadn’t pushed I should say. Every night we fall asleep side by side, he kisses me goodnight and then leaves it at that.

The Doctor was always fine with limited intimacy, me I was the one who always wanted it more than him. But I thought that after twenty-five years without me he might have missed it just a little.

But so far he seems perfectly content to just hold me and that’s it. I haven’t asked him why. It’s not like I was even well enough to think about doing anything, but now it was starting to bug me a bit.

I stepped into the shower and let the warm water wash the sweat off of my body. Everyone kept telling me I was pushing myself too hard, but they don’t know how much Time Lords can handle. The Doctor is the only one who hasn’t said anything about me exercising so much.

I stepped out of the shower and after drying off I went over to the small closet and opened it. Thank God the Doctor saved all of my clothes. I grabbed a pair of green cargo pants a black tank top and some combat boots.

I got dressed and braided my still wet hair before stepping out of the room once again. This was the first time I had worn the kind of clothes I used to wear. I had lost a few pounds that I didn’t need to lose to begin with and that made my normally tight top a little looser around the waist.

I didn’t know where the Doctor was, during the day he was usually off doing what he called ‘important stuff’ the way he said it made it sound so unimportant, like he did it for fun and it only took up half of his brain energy.

I of course had nothing to do, besides maybe read, but I had been reading for a week straight and today I felt like exploring. This place hadn’t changed much in twenty-five years but some things were different.

I decided to see if the TARDIS’ were where I had left them behind all those years before. I turned right at the next corner and tried to blend in as I went. It wasn’t easy especially when everyone knew you as ‘The Doctor’s wife who had been asleep for twenty-five years and suddenly woke up’ most of these people weren’t even alive when I left.

I eventually made it back to what the Doctor and I had affectionately called ‘The Lab’ granted I had to duck into corners and hide behind things to avoid being seen near it as I went, but I eventually made it.

When the coast was clear I went up to the door and said a silent prayer that it was unlocked. I turned the knob, hope coursing through me and sure enough it turned. I let out a breath of relief and stepped inside the musty old room.
