When Kiyoko woke up, she was surprised at the scene, and the smell. She sat up in her bed to see Noroi cooking. He was already clothed and in his jacket, and he was utilizing his gun as a stove to make some sort of food in a small frying pan. She looked at his face, taking in his smile, his dark brown-reddish hair, and his blue eyes. He was as normal as anyone would guess, minus the fact he was cooking on a gun.
“Oh, good morning.” she said rubbing her eyes.
“Sure is! Glad you’re awake. Just finished breakfast. You like bacon and eggs?” he asked as he produced a plate from the cupboard, and slid fried eggs, bacon, and a piece of toast onto it, then proceeding to lay it on Kiyoko’s lap. “Dig in!” He added smiling.
She began to eat, as Noroi went back to his gun, and put it away. He rolled up his sleeves, and put his gloves on. When he replaced his sleeves, he winced slightly, and then began to rub his right arm.
“Are you okay?” Kiyoko piped up in between a bite of egg and a bite of toast. Noroi instantly stopped rubbing his arm and turned towards her.
“Yeah,” he said, “I’m fine. It’s nothing. Arm’s just a bit sore.”
“Any ideas why?”
“Not really. Probably because being cramped in that plane all that time.”
“Yeah. Probably.”
“Are you all right? You a bit restless. Edgy. Something bugging you?”
“No. I’m fine. And I must say, this is really good.” she said gesturing to the half empty plate before her.
“Oh. Thanks. And the pleasure is all mine. I got the satisfaction of cooking for you. I’ve never cooked for a girl before, so never had their input on my food before now.”
“Really? With your character, I’m surprised you haven’t cooked for a lot of people, and girls at that.”
“Now you’re just trying to flatter me. It won’t work Kiyoko-chan.” he said with a grin.
“I’m not!! It’s true!”
“Keep telling yourself that...”
“Don’t make me come over there and slap you. Respect your elders, newbie.” she said in a mocking voice.
At this point, they both broke out laughing at how silly their argument was, but before they could continue to talk, they were interrupted by an ear-splitting scream. They leapt from their current positions and flew out the door. When they reached the lobby, they found it blood splattered, and occupied by screaming people, and several robotic beings. The middle one was holding up a small, glowing, purple object.
“Dark matter.” Kiyoko muttered.
“That’s dark matter? It’s been right under our nose?”
“Yes. It appears so. We didn’t scan the area when we got here, so we never noticed. But come on! We’ve got to stop them before they get away, and protect all these people.”
“Understood. ACTIVATE!” He yelled as he leapt at the robots.
“Wait! Careful! They’re level threes!” To her dismay, he didn’t hear, and continued to engage the enemy.
Noroi flew the air with grace, and within the first three minutes of the battle, critically damaged one of the level threes. He went in for another high speed attack, only to be met by the other level threes. He was launched backwards, and struck a pillar, causing it to collapse. Now dripping blood from his mouth, he launched himself once more. And again. And again. He relentlessly waged war against the robots, each time to be repelled by their combined defence.
