His heart was racing, beads of sweat running down his face. He didn't know what to do and he couldn't move because the ropes were now clawing at his wrists. Naruto wiggled a bit before falling onto his sides, panting in exhaustion.

His eyes watered a bit as he stared at the unconscious girl in front of him. Tsuki..., he thought, I'm always trying to save you... But you always get hurt in the end. He began crawling towards her, tears already falling down his cheeks. I can't stand it anymore, you being hurt. I want to be able to protect you... Keep you safe...

Naruto was now face to face with the unconscious red head. Her hair chopped unevenly and noticeable dried blood on her cheeks.

"Tsuki-chan... Please..." Naruto shook slightly, hearing the door open then close behind said person.

"Hmm well, well, well... Little child all emotional. Oh boo... Stop all your crying and toughin' up." Rios' tone was playful but then a sudden chill went down Narutos spine as it darkened. "Be glad I didn't kill this little shit like her dear ol' daddy..."

Rio frowned a bit as he felt the young boys chakra suddenly spark up. Naruto growled and jumped at the man but only fell down, but that also doesn't mean Rio didn't catch a glimpse of his red eyes. What great power does this child posses?

"What did you do to Tsuki? Why did you kill her parents?!" Naruto roared, out of breath.

Rio smirked and gave the blonde a pat on the head, "I'm really starting to like you... But if you must know," Rio pondered before taking a seat next to Tsuki. Slowly he began placing with her hair, his eyes dulling over time.

"Rio get your ass in here you stupid boy!" Rio frowns, knowing the voice was coming from his drunken father. The boy was merely fifteen, a street rat with dirty clothes and barely enough food on his plate every night.

Rio rounded the corner after he took the chicken out the oven and placed everything he cooked on a plate. His father seethed at the sight of him and grumbled as Rio finally gave him his long awaited food.

"You damn kid, what took you so long?"

Rio rolled his eyes but it didn't go unnoticed by his father. His father seethed, raising his hand before backhanded him across the face. Rio yelped before holding his reddening cheek. "Get the hell out, go do something useful." Rio replied with a timid yes sir before walking towards the door and leaving. He breathed in the fresh air and noticed the pitied looks sent his way when we got outside.

His father wasn't always like this, but when his mother just up and left them a long time ago, he's been taking out all his anger on Rio.

Naruto looked at Rio with no sign of pity. Naruto knew what it felt like to be tossed around as a kid but the man in front of him didn't deserve the pity sent his way. This made him wonder, if Naruto never have met Tsuki, would he have turned out like Rio the way he is
today? Rio hummed, "You are pretty quiet... Is my story scaring you kid." He gave a grin but Naruto frowned causing Rio to give out a exaggerated sigh. "Alright, alright, as I was saying. I didn't grow up in a very decent household. I would do his bidding, find ways to keep him happy so he wouldn't beat my ass every night. Then it happened, one afternoon, I met her..."

Birthday in a few months, Rio kept telling himself he could make it. Once he turns sixteen, he planned on telling his father about moving out. A lot of kids in the Higa village got their own place at sixteen, all they had to do was file some paper work months before the day of their sixteenth birthday. Rio was roaming the streets when he ran into a small female. He rose a brow as he watched her clench on to blanket that was wrapped around her. It was late and he was wondering what she was even doing out here.
