"The walls of Moria!" Gimli said in awe.
"Itidin...it mirrors only starlight and moonlight. It reads, "The door of Durin, Lord of Moria. Speak, friend, and enter." Gandalf read.
"What do you suppose that means?" Merry asked.
"It's quite simple. If you are a friend, speak the password and the doors will open. Annon edhellen, edro hi ammen!" Gandalf said.
"Mines are no place for a Pony, even one so brave as Bill." Aragorn told Sam.
"Bye, Bill." Sam said.
"Go on, Bill, go on..don't worry, Sam...he knows his way home." Aragorn said as he looked around.
"Goodbye, Bill." Sam said.
"Do not disturb the water." Tezera said as she gripped Pippin's arm.
"It's a riddle... Speak, friend, and enter. What's the Elvish for friend?" Frodo walked to the door.
"Oh...mellon." Gandalf said as the door opened.
"So, master elf, you will enjoy the fabled hospitality of the dwarves; roaring fires, malt beer, red meat off the bone. This, my friend, is the home of my cousin, Balin...and they call this a Mine... A mine!" Gilmi yelled as they walked in.
"This is no mine...it's a tomb!"Boromir said after he looked around.
"Oh...no...no..no... !" Gimli said as he fell the ground.
"Goblins!" Legolas said as he picked up an arrow.
"We make for the Gap of Rohan. We should never have come here." Boromir said as something picked Frodo up.
"Frodo!" Tereza yelled as she turned around.
"Tereza!" she heard someone yell as she went to help Frodo.
She was able to get the creature's attention away from Frodo and on her. She felt something wrap around her ankle as she went to move away from Frodo. She stabbed at it as she saw Aragorn and Boromir in the water.
"Into the mines!" Gandalf yelled.
"Legolas!" Boromir yelled as Tereza stabbed at it again.
Legolas shot at it as Boromir and Aragorn stabbed at it. The creature screamed in pain as it dropped Tereza. She readied herself to hit the ground as she fell. She yelped softly as she felt someone catch her and run into the mine. The person put her down as the Fellowship walked away from the door.
"Be more careful, Tereza." Aragorn said as he looked around.
"We now have but one choice...we must face the long dark of Moria. Be on your guard...there are older and fouler things than the Orcs in the deep places of the world. I have no memory of this place." Gandalf said as they stopped walking.
"Are we lost?" Pippin asked.
"No. I don't think we are. Shhhh, Gandalf's thinking." Merry told him.
"Merry!" Pippin said
"What?" Merry asked Pippin.
"I'm hungry." Pippin said as Tereza sat down beside them.
"There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it...and that is an encouraging thought. Ah! That it's that way!" Gandalf said as they all stood up.
"He's remembered!" Merry said as they started to walk.
"No, but the air doesn't smell so foul down there. If in doubt, Meriadoc, always follow your nose! Yes..." Gandalf told Merry as they walked.
