"W-What?" Karai asked in utter disbelief. Leo had informed her of his current family situation, and let's just say she didn't take it well (other than the fact she had punched the wall in anger).

"Yeah." Leo said with a sigh and a dark look in his grey eyes. Karai's own reptilian emerald ones stared into his, deeply. She had sensed his struggles, his bottle, his pain from the day they had first met; but she didn't say anything because she thought it wasn't her business.

"Oh, Leo." She muttered softly and enveloped him into a warm hug. "Don't you dare tell anyone I did this." She whispered again and rested her chin on his head. The turtles had major growth spurts and Leo was now the smallest, Karai grew a little as well.

Leonardo was shocked beyond all recognition (I know FUBAR, but SBAR? Come on!) before slowly, and hesitantly, returning the embrace. He wasn't quite used to hugging throughout his life.

Karai breathed in deeply, savouring his calming scent of incense, and even went as far as stroking his shell in a comforting manner.

"Leo. Cry. Now." She growled and pulled him to the rooftop ground with her. She then showed one of her own sad looks when her little brother whimpered a little then bursting into sobs. The bottle had shattered.

He let out sad cries, scared cries, betrayed cries, happy cries, even laughed a couple times during his grief. All the while, Karai softly whispered encouraging words to him and stroked his head lovingly.

After minutes of crying Leo finally pulled away and looked to the side shamefully. He felt weak because of crying like that in front of her, but also relieved, his chest felt light and he actually felt contempt.

"K-Karai..." He asked embarrassedly and looked to the ground. What he was going to ask would change their lives. No would lead to suicide but yes would lead them both to a new life of fun and no rules.

"Yeah?" Karai asked herself, she wondered what he wanted to ask. One side of her wanted him to ask her out and the other side wanted to run away.

"L-Let's run away, together. You don't wanna go live at the lair and Shredder hates you, my family hates me..." He began to ask shyly before Karai yelled at him.

"Yes! I've been wanting to ask for a while, but I was afraid you'd say no because you would never leave a family that cared!"

Little did they know that a simple, harmless word, 'yes' would change the entire way of living for the world.

A/N: lol short chapter, but whatever! What you gonna do about it? 😎
