Jack's face twisted. With her refusal of him as paternal unit he felt that he had nothing left in the world to lose. He rushed her trying to knock her away from Slabinsky, but Adam wasn't having any of it. He was tired of feeling useless and sitting idly by while watching Echo heal. He wanted to do something. So he did. He slammed his full body wait into Jack knocking him to the ground.

"I thought I already told you?!" he yelled, lifting his father's head of the ground by his grass stained collar. " You-aren't-touching-my-sister!" he emphasized his words by punching the man in the face each time.

"Get off of me you stupid little boy!" Jack grunted while shoving Adam off of him. Adam's head hit concrete and bounced ,knocking him unconscious.

"Adam!" cried Ivy, running to her little brother's side. He looked innocent while sleeping and half his age. The bruising and swelling made it even more realistic. Sad but true. "Dad! Look a what you did to your little boy! Don't you realize that he is your only son?!" Ivy cried, angry tears streaming down her face.

"Son?" Jack spat he words out of his mouth like they tasted bad. " I have no son!" he screamed out like a mad man. he lashed out as though he were going to hit Ivy but his foot never hit its intended target.

Slab had shoved Jack away from Ivy where he landed in the soft grass by the curb causing no actual damage. He jumped up ready to fight but soon thought better of it after seeing how large Slab was. Slab chuckled but it was different from his normal laugh. He actually sounded violent. And it was scary.

Ivy didn't have time to worry about Slab though. She had to get Adam to safety. Luckily he seemed to be regaining consciousness. "Sissy you're tall..." he mumbled blinking slowly. "Oh dear God just what we need. I think he has brain damage." she said to no one in particular. Ivy slid into the backseat with Adam close behind her.

"Is the pretty lady hurt?" Adam asked worriedly. What ever was up with Adam,it was seriously starting to worry Ivy.

"Adam cut it out this isn't funny." she whispered harshly.

"Look I know you've had it hard this past week, but I have too. I'm the one he made watch that..." a silent tear fell down his cheek. Adam didn't usually make noise when he cried. Even when he was a little boy. "that whatever it was. So, please, I tried to help so don't give me any bull. For once let me act my age. I'm just a scared eight year old boy."

"Ohmigod. Did Adam just say he was eight?"asked Echo as she sat up. Slab hit his head on the car roof as he got in.

"I tossed him in the back. If that's alright with y'all." he commented like everything was normal or something. Everything was very not normal and Ivy had run out of tears to cry.

"What the hell is going on!?" yelled Echo needing an explanation more than she needed anything else.

"OOHhhhhhh! The pretty lady cursed Ivy do we need to tell her parents?" Adam squealed. "This all very unusual. I'm not quite sure how I got here. Wherever here is. And I don't know you too at all. I'm quite sleepy too."

"Why does Adam keep calling me pretty lady and talking weird and what was that about Adam's dad. What did I miss?" asked Echo again.

"Jordan, you drive while I tell Echo what happened." said Ivy.

"Finally!!" exclaimed Echo throwing her hands up in the air.

"It is my conjecture that in this alternate universe we are farther along in maturation process than we are in the world from whence I come." Adam announced in a loud voice.
