Brushing her fingers through her hair, Katrina stretched and leaned back in the sun enjoying the warmth that it gave her; she had been a little surprised when Mesut had dropped this on her but she was enjoying it.

Having been given a few days off for Christmas, Mesut hadn't waited any time in jetting him and Katrina away to Gran Canaria; he wanted to relax in the sun for a while.

The couple were pretty much alone and they were enjoying the peace and quiet that they had right now, it wasn't going to last for long and they both knew that.

Mesut padded along the yacht towards Katrina, he was just glad that they were enjoying this time that they had together; the two had been dating for nearly four months and things were going well for them.

"It's so quiet here," Katrina mumbled peeking up at Mesut, she had to admit that this was a nice break and that she hadn't expected to enjoy herself so much.

There was no sign of anyone around to bother them and Katrina was hopeful that it would stay that way, she didn't want any paparazzi ruining their holiday for them when it was a good one.

Mesut nodded his head, he sipped on his water thinking about why he had wanted to bring Katrina here; he had been thinking about it a lot in the past few weeks.

"Somewhere like here would be good for our wedding," Mesut stated with a smile, he had been thinking about it a lot recently and he was sure that their wedding would be wonderful.

He had broken the news of their plans to his family shortly after Katrina had told hers, Mesut wanted them to be prepared for what was too come.

Katrina pushed her sun-glasses up and looked at him, she was sort of surprised that he would bring that up now; she was a little curious about what was going on inside his mind when they were meant to be relaxing.

"I also thought somewhere in the Caribbean might be nice," Mesut continued trying to hide his nerves, he messed with the label on the bottom of water wondering what Katrina would think.

They hadn't really talked about their wedding and Mesut was thrilled that they had decided on having it somewhere hot; he couldn't imagine just how their wedding day would be.

Katrina raised an eyebrow, she had no idea where all this wedding talk was coming from; it was a bit of a surprise but she liked it.

Her mother was always asking her what she thought about certain things for the wedding even if Mesut had yet to actually get down on one knee and ask her to marry him.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, they were soul-mates and there was no one else in the world out there for them; they were always going to end up together no matter what.

"I am sure you'll find a wonderful dress. My mother wants to help organise and I am sure our parents will get along perfectly," Mesut rambled eyeing his girlfriend, she looked wonderful in her hot pink banded halter bikini with double banded bottoms and he was sure she would look even better in a wedding dress.

He hadn't been able to stop himself from imagining the day when they got married, Mesut was excited and he wanted nothing more than to have some sort of idea where they were going with all of this.

"Mes?" Katrina asked trying to catch Mesut's attention, she removed her sunglasses and sat at the edge of her sun-lounger; she was a little relieved he had decided to do this now and not with loads of people around.

She had never seen him this nervous before and she hoped that he wasn't going to be like this, every time they were to discuss something important.

Mesut, however, didn't stop talking as he continued to nervously ramble on about some ideas that he'd had for their wedding day; he couldn't bring himself to look at Katrina until she took his hands with a smile.

Her eyes searched his face and she couldn't help but find it cute that he had gotten so nervous while talking to her; Katrina had never seen him so nervous before.

"Are you trying to ask me to marry you?" Katrina asked not wanting to ruin the moment, she watched him closely wishing that she had something better to say.

There was silence for a moment while Mesut cursed himself, he swallowed eyeing Katrina wondering what to say to her; this was so not how he had wanted this moment to go for them.

"Ja," Mesut mumbled embarrassed, he stared down at his feet unable to believe how bad he was at this; he had wanted it to be romantic but that certainly hadn't happened.

The sun was setting swiftly behind them and they'd had a wonderful day together on the yacht; Mesut had no idea why his nerves had gotten the best of him at that moment.

Katrina smiled getting to her feet, she wrapped her arms around Mesut and kissed him finding it adorable that he had gotten so nervous, she didn't blame him since it was a big step to take.

She didn't care how he asked her to marry him only that he did, this felt right and Katrina wanted nothing more than to marry Mesut and she doubted that anything could ruin this for them now.

Katrina couldn't keep the smile off her face as Mesut showed her the engagement ring that he had picked out, she couldn't believe that this was happening; they were back in the villa after a day on the yacht.

It felt so unreal that this was happening, Katrina couldn't believe that she hadn't seen this coming; she had known that their engagement would happen but just not like this.

"What do you think?" Mesut asked nervously allowing her to hold the platinum diamond cluster engagement ring, he'd been waiting for the right time to ask her and now seemed right.

They were both thinking more and more about the future and with both of their families due to meet before the New Year; it felt like the right time for them to get engaged.

"It's beautiful Mes," Katrina whispered gently, she gently fingered the engagement ring and she was a little stunned that he had picked out something like this for her.

Mesut sat down next to Katrina, he swallowed knowing that things were about to change for them; he wasn't going to let his own doubts ruin things for them.

It wasn't that he didn't want to marry Katrina but he was worried that his ex was going to become more of an issue for them; Mesut was very aware that she hadn't given up her mission of trying to get him back.

He didn't know what to do to make her understand that he wasn't interested, Mesut had moved on with his life and he wished she would do the same.

Taking the ring from Katrina, Mesut slowly got down on one knee wanting at least to get something right today; he still couldn't believe how nervous he had been earlier.

"Katrina Portokalos will you marry me?" Mesut asked with a small smile, he wanted things to be perfect between them and he was more than willing to wait a little while before they took the next step.

There was little chance they would be able to marry this summer; Mesut was going to be busy enough with the Euros but he did know that the summer after was a possibility.

"Yes," Katrina breathed grinning at Mesut, she allowed him to carefully slip the ring onto her finger before she kissed him.

She didn't care what anyone else had to say, they were happy that everything had worked out for them like this.
