Chapter 10: Shopping mall
Inside the box there was a beautiful silver necklace with an amber coloured stone shaped like a water drop. “Wow.” I breathed as I took the necklace out of the box. “Are you sure this is for me?” I asked Bryant. He nodded. “Here, I’ll help you” Bryant said as he put it around my neck. “It will protect you from any of us trying to bite you.” I looked at Bryant in shock. “What Bryant is saying is this: It’s a magical stone. As long as you’re not a vampire it will protect you from any of our urges.” Chandler added. “Blood.” I mumbled as I inspected the stone ones more. “That’s right.” Chandler said with a nod.
“Okay, so what now?” I asked. Anny squealed. “I’m glad you ask that!”. Chandler sighed and made a face. “What?” I asked. “Shopping!” Anny replied in total happy mode. Truly is she on drugs or something? I mean she’s so much energy. Can a vampire be on drugs? Ah, what does it matter.
“So how do we get there?” I asked. Wade and Vance looked at each other and then grinned at me. I didn’t really like that. What were they up to? “Teleporting.” Wade and Vance said both at the same time. “You’re joking wright?” I asked looking scared. “Don’t worry Hayley. I’ll take care of you Bryant said while embracing me tightly. It felt a little uncomfortable being so close to one of the guys. From the corner of my eye I could see Anny and Chandler look lovingly at each other. They touched each other and poof. They vanished. I looked at it in disbelieve. Then I saw Wade and Vance high five and they were gone too. I looked at Bryant and was a little nervous. “It doesn’t hurt right?” I asked while eying Bryant. “Don’t worry. You’ll be with me.” He said cheerfully.
Suddenly Aldwyn pulled me away from Bryant and gently touched my cheek. He looked into my eyes with so much intensity that it almost scared me. “That is unless you’d rather teleport with me.” Bryant said in an almost enchanting tone. I looked from Aldwyn to Bryant and saw that they were both looking at each other. Daring each other about something.
“Why don’t we go with the three of us?” I asked. Both Aldwyn and Bryant looked at me with so much surprise in their faces that I thought their eyes would roll out of their heads. It was silent for a while. Did I say something wrong? After a second I added: “I feel safer that way.” Both Aldwyn and Bryant softened their faces. Aldwyn took my left hand and Bryant my right. I saw them take a look at each other that predicted nothing good and suddenly the room we were in disappeared.
I was in so much shock that I hardly saw what was going on. Suddenly the room had made way for a shopping mall but I could hardly understand what had happened.
“Where were you guys?” Anny said waking me up from my shock. “Uhm…” I began but when I saw the way Bryant and Aldwyn look at each other I kept quiet. “Ah.” Anny said in an understanding tone. Suddenly she pulled me away from both Aldwyn and Bryant. “Maybe it’s better if you come with me.” Anny said. “Uhuh.” I replied and we both walked away. I turned around to take 1 last look at Aldwyn and Bryant and I was almost sure that I saw lightning flashes between their eyes just before Anny pulled me around the corner.
