See You Again

(The School Bell Rings)

As usual today's boring old Friday & as usual I have nothing planned for this weekend. It's the end of school & Im waiting for my two best friends, Erika & Brandon, to come out of our French teacher's class. Usually, Brandon would've been first out that door when that bell rings but, he needed to get a more clear understanding of this project due next week so he had to stay a bit more behind & ask Mrs. Delatour. And Erika...well...she's always last, & I always wait for her.
"Bye Mrs. Delatour!", both of them said in unison as they opened & walked out the door.
"Bye, sweeties!", she said in a accent.
"Why!......We are testing the whole week next week for the most important test of the year, for math & language arts. And now we have a project due too?!", Brandon whined.
"Ok...we'll help each other starting Monday but, first you guys wanna go right now out to Walgreens?", Erika asked.
"Erika, aren't your parents usually are a bit strict & don't you usually go home straight after-school?", I asked.
"Well, yeah, but, my parents told me they are gonna give me a bit more freedom starting today. And said they were gonna start picking me up at 3:30 instead of always picking me up 3:03 & besides Walgreens is just 5 blocks away we'll be back in before 3:30 anyways so...," she started.
"Okay! Fine! Erika we'll go with you. But, of course, in honor of you gaining a bit of freedom.", Brandon said sarcastically.
"Ok, so what about you Melody? I mean only if you want to...", Erika asked gently. She's been through with me these past 3-4 years & when my parents died she stayed by my side & tried to cheer me up every step of the way since the accident happened. But, she knows that I may never smile again.
"Sure. Besides Yaya also picks me up at 3:30 too so...it's all good.", I responded.
"Well, my dad won't be home until 4:00 so, I'm good to.", Brandon added.
"Great! Let's go!", Erika said while hopping/skipping up & down as me & Brandon just stared at her in confusion. Brandon & Erika are school brother & sister, they argue/fight about every little thing but, they always make up & if not I usually try & change the subject. As they talked nonstop & I just listened I saw that there were three cute boys walking in front of us. You see, Erika's my BFF for life!, but I never told her what happened a few nights ago. And when I saw that one of the boys turned his head to the side I saw something that made me have butterflies in my stomach. It was...Daniel!

I stopped while we were walking & Erika & Brandon did as well.
"Melody, what's wrong?", Erika asked.
"Are you ok?", Brandon asked as well.
I pulled them into this corner around a house behind some tall bushes & while doing so I kept thinking...Shit, shit, shit, shit, SHIT!
"Melody, what happened?", Erika kept asking.
"Yeah you look like you've seen a motherfucking ghost or something.", Brandon said as well.
"Ok...um, how do I put this?...long story-short, I got kidnapped, almost rapped, cute boy saved me, introduced me to other two cute boys, nursed my wound & I ran away.", I said all in one breath.
They both looked at me like I was crazy.
"Ok, I'm confused but why did you stop?", Brandon asked.
"Never mind that! Back up-someone almost rapped you?!", Erika yelled.
"Yes, but I was saved by this cute boy. But the thing is that, those three boys (I pointed to the block ahead of us) are the three boys that nursed me that night, & one of them the vanilla-looking skinned toned one, whose name is Daniel, is the one who knocked my kidnapper out cold & saved me.", I exclaimed.
"Wow! But why don't you wanna talk to them? I mean they may wanna know how are you doing I mean you did ran home after that.", Erika pointed out.
"Well...you do have point but what should I say I mean I don't even know them?", I stated.
"Well, it looks like they're going to Walgreens as well so maybe you'll have a chance to say thank you?", Erika said.
"Ok, fine. By the way Brandon are you ok? You're puffing your cheeks like you wanna say something for awhile now?", I asked softly.

"DAMN DANIEL!!!", he finally bursts into laughter. 😂😂😂 So, Erika couldn't help but laugh too but, I still rolled my eyes. We resumed walking 'till we got to Walgreens.

We walked inside Walgreens but I just took baby steps wondered what will happen. We didn't see them around the front door so that was a relief.
"They still didn't put down all this lovey-dovey stuff from Valentine's Day?", Brandon asked with an annoyed look on his face.
"Awe Brandon, why do you have to be so heartless?", Erika asked in a baby-toned voice.
"Because it's the middle of March & I'm tired of seeing red & pink hearts everywhere I tur"-suddenly, he bumped into a HUGE teddy bear. "See what I mean?!", he said as he shoved the teddy bear to the ground on the floor. Erika couldn't help but crack up.
"Ok, it's 3:12, we'll meet back here, near the magazines at 3:23.", Erika said as she looked down at her watch.
"Ok.", me & Brandon both said.
I put my hoodie on & started walking towards an aisle filled with GIGANTIC teddy-bears. As I looked down on my phone, scrolling down on my Insta page, I bump into somebody & landed flat on my butt. My phone dropped & I was about to pick it up, when "somebody" beat me to it.
"I'm sooo sorry.", he said as he grabbed my phone off the floor. I didn't dare look at him & just stared at the floor grabbing my phone back, scared of who the 70% chance of him was.
"Are you ok?", he asked. I put my head up with no other choice left & said "Hey?" It was Daniel, I left him speechless & then there was silence. He then remembered that I still was on the floor flat on my ass so, he helped me up.
"I-I'm soo sorry, I made you fall.", he said apologetically. He grabbed my hand & pulled me up.
"I-it's been a while now...", I whispered aloud.
"Yeah, I mean look at you, all wounded-free & ready to take flight.", he tried to joke. "I was worried what happened to you after you ran way from my garage, into the rainy night.", he said scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah well, I only live like ten minutes away from your house so, um...it was a short run I guess.", I chuckled.
"Well...are you okay? I mean you did went through alot, "that night".", he asked looking at me straight in the eyes.
"Y-yeah. I actually wanted to say thank you, for um...you know...saving me & all.", I replied.
"Oh!, you don't have to I mean it was really nothing.", he said. "Besides, let's start over. Hi, my names Daniel.", he said with his hand out.
"Hey...my names Melody.", I said smiling & shaking his hand. This may be the the first time in months that I've actually smiled, with meaning.

*Daniel's POV*

Me & the boys were going to separate in Walgreens our own way to buy whatever we wanted. They still had HUGE teddy-bears down the aisle I was walking in. If only there was a girl that could be my smoochie baby that I could buy these teddy-bears for. Without even looking where I was going, I ran into someone & a made them fall onto the floor. I quickly apologized but, I couldn't see their face. I handed her her phone but, something looked familiar. As she raised her head, I was in mandatory shock. "It's her!", I thought with my mouth wide open. I quickly helped her up & just stared in her eyes. After a short conversation, I decided that we should start over.
"Hi, my names Daniel.", I said with my hand out.
"Hey...my names Melody.", she said smiling & shaking my hand. "So, this mysterious girl that I've been wondering all about, this whole time is named...Melody.",  I thought as this name echoed through my head.

*Melody's POV*

After staring at me for quite some time,😳, I suddenly asked, "What's your number?" Then, I covered my mouth with my hand & thought, Stupid, stupid, STUPID!!!
"I'm sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that-",
"No, it's perfectly fine. I was about to ask you the same thing, anyways.", he said cutting me off & taking out his phone. (We exchanged numbers)🤗
"Well, nice seeing you again. I'll probably text you maybe later tonight. If that's alright?", he said with a smirk on his face😏.
"Sure...it's TOTALLY fine.", I said trying not to look so happy.
"Gizzy!", he said, looking excited. And me TOTALLY confused. The heck is a "gizzy"?
Then, as we walked our separate ways, we both looked back at the same time, meeting each other's glances & both turning back around quickly, embarrassed.😳😳😳💀💀
I met up with my friends, & told them what happened.
"Ok...so, did you get his number?!", Erika asked sarcastically.
"Maybe...", I responded.
"Well, I hope you get pregnant.😂", Erika said in a joking voice.
"Tf.", Brandon said while looking at Erika as if she were crazy.
"I'm jk!...not...",(She said under her breath)
Then, we walked back to the front of the school got picked up & Brandon walked home (🎤lonely🎤). While I kept wondering when I got home, "Will he text tonight?"

*Daniel's POV*

As we exchanged phone numbers, & walked away, I wanted to catch one last good look of her, so I turned around & saw that she was also glancing at me at the same time! We both quickly turned our heads. And I became like this, 😳😳💀💀💀💀💀
I went back to Kevin & Dev & told them everything. They were both asking numerous of questions asking about how did she look like? Did she look ok? And other stuff like that. But as soon as I went home, I rode my skateboard thinking about what happened, & was wondering if I should text "Melody", later. And replaying in my head how we saw each other again...
