The Morning After

I woke up & saw the sun shining through the window.
Whyyyyyy?!?!?!😩😩😩 I fucking hate u sun!😡
I threw the covers over my head.
Before even 10 seconds went by, I noticed something was off.
I quickly threw the covers off & looked towards the ground.
Erika & Azariah are gone.....they must be downstairs.

I grabbed my phone & scrolled through insta without liking any pics.
Ugh.....this is so frustrating😒
I got up & went to the bathroom.

I did my morning business & hygiene.
Afterwards, I fixed my ponytail cause it was a mess & walked out.
For some reason, I barely let my hair out anymore. I have been doing ponytails this whole summer.

I went down the stairs, noticing that Kevin, Azariah, Daniel, Devin, Erika, & Joshua were all scattered on the couch or floor watching TV or eating breakfast.

My footsteps captured their attention.
"Well zammmm best friend! You look like a goddess in da morning! Well....second goddess....", Erika says appointing to herself.
Azariah & Devin laugh while the other boys just look at me with their jaws dropped open.
"Um...guys.", I said, they didn't answer.
"Guys!", I yelled snapping them outta a trance it seems.
"You a'ight?", I ask.
"Y-You just look......"
"Sexy.", Daniel says cutting off Kevin.
"Oops. Did I say that aloud?", Daniel says covering his mouth looking up the stairs hoping that Riky didn't hear that.
"I look like a gorilla thank you very much. I see that a night in Riky's room made u boys men.", I state sarcastically.
"Oh Melody😔...it was horrible. Horrible I tell u! I-It was like, being trapped in cage...guarded by a bulldog! Oh the horror.....the HORROR!", Kev exclaims hugging me from the waist like a scared messed up little kid.
"Don't man....don't remind me.....", Devin says curling up into a ball next to Erika.
"What about u Dani?", Erika asks laughing her ass off.
"Well I guess it was ok. Other than the fact that if I even twitch Riky would've sliced me in two. I think I cried myself to sleep😥😓😓......", he states trying not to remember.
"How about u Joshua? Did u sleep well?", I ask.
"Yeah....it was comfortable sleeping here tonight.", he said giving me a smile.
"Oh good. Well, I gotta go raid my kitchen. Be back in a sec.", I state swerving towards the fridge.

As I go into the kitchen, I see Yaya drinking her morning coffee & eating waffles.
"Good morning my little baby.", Yaya says.
"Hey. Good morning.", I said getting out a glass of water.
"So.....are u going back to Errol?", she asked.
"Yeah. I'll come back later in the afternoon tho. We just have a lot of training to do.", I exclaimed.
"Well....I'll be gone all day & Riky too so u & your friends can hangout somewhere later on. Just be sure to get back here at 9:00 ok?", she says getting her keys & bag.
"Ok thx sis. Love ya.", I said giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Me too.", she says kissing me back.

She leaves & I enter the living room again.

"So, we're going to go see Errol right now. You guys can go home if you'd like. I mean, maybe later on we can go catch a movie?", I stated.
"Hell no! I'm gonna see this "Errol" myself! I'm not letting u outta ma site again!", Erika stated putting on her shoes.
"I-I don't think Errol will approve of us bringing a pack of humans among the pack.", I stated nervously.
"We can train where I used to train u for archery. Errol doesn't have to know. He'll only know that we've been training.", Azariah exclaimed.
"You sure?", I asked worried.
"Positive. And we'll show them your mini treehouse. We'll train real quick.", she assured.
"Great! Let's go then!", Devin says getting up.

I shrugged my shoulders & went upstairs to change. Riky went to work.
As I change into yesterday's outfit, which was freshly cleaned, I grab my phone & head downstairs.

Everyone was already outside, so I locked the front door & we all walked towards the woods.

As we arrived everyone was excited to see us fight.

"Ok. Now, Mel, come at me with a side-kick & go straight into a back-flip reflex ok?", Joshua says putting his fists up & getting into position.
I nod & go right for it.
I side-kicked with my right leg & he dodged it. He tried to punch me straight in my face but I did a backflip & dodged it as well.
I can hear "Ohs & Ahs", from everyone else.
"Kick his ass!😋", Azariah screamed.
"Go right for the nuts Babygirl!", Dani semi-yelled excited that I might kick his ass.
Why don't his jealous ass & come try to do it? Oh wait...never mind. Bad idea. They might try to kill each other.

Joshua comes at me with a mean punch in the shoulder & almost knocked me down.
I got myself together & swung his whole body to the ground & pinned him down.
We were face-to-face.
I could sense energy coming from his body & floating into mines.
He's so warm.........
I get off quickly & start receiving cheers.
Kevin came running up to me & hugged me tight as a congratulations.
Erika as well.
"Nice job. You almost actually made me scared of you girl. But not quite yet.", Joshua says getting up & walking towards me.
"Oh really? So is that a, "You're so amazing Melody", I'm hearing?" I asked laughingly.
He smiles & shakes his head for no as I keep bragging.
It was the 8th time that I beat Joshua in a one-on-one fight.
He teaches me a lot of self-defense moves to make me better on each fail.

I train with Azariah in archery for a few & we headed up to my treehouse where I've lived for the past 8 months.

We conversed & & chilled for a while.
Devin was telling the most hilarious jokes man! 😂

Everything went smoothly until I looked towards my broken mirror.
There was only a chunk of mirror glass that I didn't break.
I threw the other pieces away.
The memories of when I broke that mirror flowed back to me.
I remembered Daniel & everyone so upset & crying.
The image of Daniel with those puffy red eyes couldn't get outta my head.
"Hey Mel?", Daniel said capturing my attention.
"Yeah?"
"What happened to your mirror?", he asked.
"Yeah. It looks like a tornado hit it🤔.", Devin says examining it.
"They say that if u break a mirror, someone close to u will die.", Kevin said as a joke.
Erika punched him in the shoulder.
"It's, "7 years of bad luck", not that someone will die nigga.🙄", Erika corrected him annoyingly.
"Well I heard that from somewhere. Must be fake tho.", he claimed shrugging his shoulder & leaning on my bed.

What if.....it isn't fake? With the war between the clans coming soon....w-what if someone close to me will die?

I shook that thought outta ma head.

We finally left the treehouse & we started heading to the movies.
It was gonna be a long walk but I was sure we would make it before 9:00.

I just could never forget what Kevin said that day.
It stayed when until little did I know......it wasn't just a rumor.......
