When lavender arrived in her room she wasn't surprised to see Madison one again in her dorm room. This time Madison was sitting on the chair next to lavenders dresser.

"I take it your not surprised" Madison's voice was abnormally cool compared to her normally high pitched girly voice.

"No, I'm not surprised" I said,

"So I take it you must have just gotten back from hanging around with that-- that girl" She said "that girl" like Harmony was so repulsing that she didn't even deserve to acknowledge she had a name.

"What does it matter to you" I said in a rather cold voice.

"I guess it doesn't" she looked down at her knees as she spoke the words, but I didn't have to be looking at her face to see that she was hurt with my words and suddenly I felt bad for her.

"I apologies, that was rude of me to say" I walked up next to her and gently placed my hand on her thin shoulder.

"You think?" her voice with thick with frustration.

"I mean that past few days you have been distancing yourself from me and when I get upset about it you get all mad at me" she said.

Typical Madison, blaming everyone but herself for the problem at hand because she's always the victim.

"I'm not distancing myself from anyone Madd, the last time we even hung out other then during class or your nightly visits the past two nights was in middle school..." Then at that moment I realized why she was so upset with me, not because she thinks I'm distancing myself from her, but because I'm not distancing myself from harmony.

"Madd..."I spoke, and I tried to make my voice as soft and understanding as possible.

"I'm sorry but I'm bound to make at least one friend other then you in my life".

Madison looked back up to meet my eyes.

"I know, it's just that you're changing and I don't think I like it much Lav. I like the old you, the lavender who's always cool and on top of everything, who never gets upset or surprised, the lavender who would only relax in around me not anyone else." Her voice started to get shaky and her hazel eyes were looking watery, I didn't know what to say but after a moment of silence I spoke.

"I can't help it, I feel comfortable around Harmony and we get along good. I want to be friends with her and if that changes me, well it's worth it." Madison's body stiffened at my words.

"Lavender" she said surprisingly calm.

"Yes?" I replied.

"Are you gay?" her words struck me like an electric shock, I tried to say something in response but my mouth wouldn't move. I was stuck wide eyed with shock like a deer in the headlights, or more appropriately a deer caught in the headlights. Madison stood up so we were standing eye to eye and she said

"Well at least she's not the only one who can surprise you, looks like I can too" then she laid a small hand on my shoulder for a split second and began to walk out of the room, shutting the door behind her. I didn't move from where I was standing and for a good few minutes it felt as if I was holding my breath. Then after another minute or two I calmed myself down and went to go sit on my bed. I ran a hand through my long hair and as I watched the silver-blond flow though my fingers almost like liquid I thought about what Madison has asked me. Or course I knew the answer to her question no one could know, not Madison, not even Harmony. I decided a hot shower would most likely make me feel better so I stood up, peeled off my clothes and wrapped myself in a fluffy white bath robe and left my room to go take a shower.

Madison left lavenders room and as she shut the door behind her she felt her eyes fill with tears. She was losing lavender, the only real friend she has ever had. Madison quickly rushed through the A dorm to get to her room without being seen. Madison opened the door to her room and ran straight to her bed and tossed herself face down onto the mattress. The tears running uncontrollably down her face, smearing her at one point neatly applied mascara and blurring her sight but all she could think about is how she's losing lavender. Then Madison's roommate Savannah walked in with a large bag of potato chips in her hand. Savannah was tall and had beautiful olive skin that was a shade or two darker then Chris's. She had short straight black hair in an A line haircut. Her eyes were large and very dark with thick eyelashes and Savannah had a very slender but womanly body. The girl looked like she could play Pocahontas at Disneyland. As Savannah shut the door behind her and sat on her bed she looked over at me. I tried pushing my face deeper into my pillow to hide the fact that I was crying. Savannah then asked, rather uncomfortably

"Uh, are you alright?"

"Like you even care" I snapped.

"Your right I don't care, I just felt kind of sorry for you" she said as she lied down on her bed and began working on the bag of chips she brought up.

"Well I don't need the likes of you to feel sorry for me." I argued back.

"Gosh ok, sorry I asked. Man, are you nice to anyone or are you just a bitch to everybody but that blond chick "

I didn't respond because she had brought my mind back towards lavender and I could feel the tears burning up again. Lavenders being taken away from me, and I'm not going to just sit back and let it happen. I promised myself. After another hour or two of crying I finally tired myself out to the point where I feel asleep.
