Lavender dashed down the B dorm steps as fast as her long legs would take her, Lavenders side was already hurting from running so much and she was completely out of breath, but still she chased Madison out of the dorm and across the campus. Madison exercised a lot because she wasn't as naturally thin as lavender so she was a pretty decent runner. Lavender was about three feet behind Madison but she could feel the distance widening as they made their way down to the far end of the school. By now Lavender already knew where Madison was heading, she was heading for the far corner of the large iron gate behind the staff dorms. Madison was now very far ahead of lavender but not far enough to the point where she couldn't see Madison reach the gate; grab on to the third iron bar from the corner and pull. The bar easily popped off like it always does and Madison dashed though the now "thin sized girl" shaped hole in the gate and disappeared behind the trees right outside of the school. Finally I caught up to the gate and hopped through the hole, I was about to run off after Madison but then I realized how bad it would be if a teacher walked by and saw this imperfection at this supposedly "perfect" school. I bet you Madison knew I wouldn't just leave it like this, I bet she was counting on the fact that she could buy more time by me staying back and covering up the only secret way out of the school. And she was right. So I grabbed the trick bar that former St. Maria's students had made long before I entered this school; I quickly snapped the iron bar back into place, now that it was safe I began to run behind the trees after Madison. I kept running till I reached the lake even though I was completely tired out, I was half temped to throw myself into the water and swim across but I realized how idiotic that sounded, so instead I ran around the lake in despite of my aching leg mussels. Thankfully it wasn't that far of a distance and soon I began to see another large iron gate identical to the one at St. Maria's and this one was also surrounding another large school.
St. Paul's all boys' boarding school.
Now I was so close to the school I could see two figures outside of the gate talking quickly. I now could see Madison clearly; she was red in the face and talking franticly to the oh-to-familiar tall, pail, silvery haired boy, Auburn.
I felt my heart drop into my stomach, what was she telling him? I stopped running and I paused for a moment to gather my composure and then with my head held up high I slowly walked up to them. Madison shot me a look; her eyes were filled with frustration and determination she looked like she was on the verge of tears...again. Poor Madison, her whole life she always got her way even now she always gets what she wants, I would have felt just so bad for her if she wasn't betraying my trust by running to Auburn.
"See what I mean" she said gesturing towards me
"Do something about this" her voice was high pitched and whiny like a kindergartener who's toy just got taken away.
Auburn turned to face me, I had completely forgotten that I was still in Harmony's clothes; it took a lot of will power not to turn red. Auburn smirked arrogantly as he looked at my appearance.
"Well, well, well this is an interesting turn of events" he said in a smug voice.
But I didn't let any emotion show on my face as I spoke for the first time.
"Thank you Madison for informing my brother of my personal life, now if you don't mind I believe you have done enough for one day, and I would like to speak with him alone." My voice was so ice cold I even surprised myself.
Madison's face filled with an emotion I couldn't quite place, was it regret? I doubt it.
"But I have every right to be here, your recent behavior has been effecting all of us!" she said, but before I could respond to her Auburn cut in
"Im sorry Madison but as much as I appreciate your concern for my sister, this is now a family matter and since your not part of our family this discussion shouldn't concern you any longer."
Madison's face started to Bloch with anger.
"Fine!" she snapped, and with a quick flick of her orange curls she dramatically stomped off. That girl sure does like dramatic excites.
Auburn waited till Madison was completely out of sight before speaking again.
"So, tell me about Harmony" he said coolly.
"Well. Harmony is a term in music when two or more tones combine to make a pleasant sound. Another meaning is a state of peace and tranquility another way to say harmoniously, for example, Auburn lives harmoniously in his own little perfect world where he never has to worry about anything because everything is always done for him." I said bitterly.
Auburns face broke out in a large grin before he started laughing.
"Oh Lavender, you never fail to impress me but I know that your not that ignorant and you know that im not that easily fooled"
"Well you sure have fooled me" I said.
"Now tell me about this young lady named Harmony" he said seriously.
"She is a new transfer student who I have for two of my classes" I said truthfully.
"And is she not this eccentric, rude, dimwitted girl who you have been hanging around with and is making you fall into rebellious state as Madison described to me?" he asked.
Now you see I should have just shrugged and said 'your over reacting I don't even know the girl that well' and I probably would have said that if he had been talking about anyone else but of course I didn't, why didn't I say that you ask, well because he had called her dimwitted and that just flat out pissed me off. So instead of listening to my head and saying the right thing I looked him in the eye and said
"Harmony Kingston is nothing of the sort. She is an intelligent, artistic, poetic girl who I just so happen to like being around and who just so happens to enjoy my company as well. But no that's not enough for you is it? Because im not supposed to, im not allowed to, it's out of my character to have friends!" auburn was the only one I could argue with like a child, well because he was my older brother, my only one and that's just expected of siblings.
"I never said you weren't allowed to have friends and its not out of your character to have friends either because Madison and you were quite close up in till middle school and when you were in grade school you guys used to always hang around with that pretty Indian girl, what her name? Hanna? Savanna? Well her name doesn't matter much just the fact that she was your friend also."
I felt slightly stupid for getting so defensive because my temper was a pretty big give away especially to someone who knows me so well.
"Look Lav, im not one hundred percent sure about the situation at hand but I know you, I know you just don't randomly take an interest in people, as a matter of fact I know that you normally don't like people in general. So ill just say this for now, remember who you are and the respectable family you came from." He then ran a hand over this slicked back silver-blond hair, then silently walked up to this schools iron gate grabbing onto the trick bar identical to the one at St. Maria's.
"Oh, one other thing, im sure you'll be hearing more from me soon because after all I tend to get along well with inelegant, artistic, poetic girls" then with out another word he popped the bar back into place and walked back to his school building.
Red hot anger filled me. But no I wasn't going to let him know that his comment had bothered me, I was just going to go back to the school and pretend that nothing ever happened. Why? Because that's what im best at.
