I still remained there kneeling in the bushes saying nothing.
"Let's go." Said Auburn as he stood up and brushed the dirt off of his pants.
"Go where?" I asked.
"To the hospital, I'll drive you."
He said as he extended a hand towards me. I took it and he helped me up.
"Let me go change first, I can't go anywhere like this" He said calmly as he gestured at his pajama pants, so we silently walked back into the house. Lavenders' mother was standing in the living room waiting for us,
"Did they leave to the hospital?" she said coolly.
"Yes." We answered simultaneously.
"Well then I assume you're going to head towards there now?"
"Of course" I said.
"Auburn, make sure all of Miss Kingston's hospital bills are taken care of." She added.
"Well, obviously. It's the least you could do mother." Auburn glared at her. Mrs. Black returned her sons glare then stalked out of the room without a backward glance. Auburn sighed then went up to his room to change. I jumped in the shower for a quick rinse which took no longer than about fifteen minutes so I could wash off the dirt that I had picked up from kneeling in the bushes then I changed into some clean clothes and ran a brush through my hair and headed to Lavenders room. I grabbed a clean dress from her closet and some underwear because I doubted she wanted to stay in a nightgown covered in Harmony's' blood from her head being in her lap. I put Lavenders clothes in a bag and headed back downstairs. Auburn was waiting for me at the door,
"Are you ready?" he asked.
His hair was combed and slicked back again and he looked clean and a nice fragrance emit from him. He wasn't wearing a suit surprisingly, but instead he had on a nice white long sleeve dress shirt with a black tie and some black slacks to go with it.
"I'm ready, let's go." I said.
Then we headed out towards the car together in silence. It didn't take long to arrive at the hospital. Lavender was by herself in the waiting room. She was leaning forward with her head in her hands, her uncombed silver hair draping over her face hiding it from view. Auburn and I walked over and sat down next to her.
"How is she?" I asked cautiously.
"I don't know. They haven't told me anything yet." She said in a low whisper.
"The hospital called her aunt ... so she should be here in about a half hour more or less..." Lavender said.
"Here, I brought you some clothes." I handed her the bag. She took it from me then without another word she strode off to the nearest bathroom to change.
"She hates me doesn't she?" I said to Auburn.
He sighed before answering me,
"Maybe for now, but she will get over it soon. She usually does."
"Well, what if she doesn't? What if she never wants anything to do with me ever again? What would I do then? She's all I have... everyone else hates me." I choked out the last few words. Lavender was my only real friend, the others say they are yet they're all my friends for the same reason, which is because they're parents tells them to be. Not because they truly want to get to know who I really am, but only to get a social gain or to have their parents get off their backs from constantly getting on their case to befriend me and hopefully have their family's name be on my father's good side...
"Well maybe if you weren't such a bitch all the time you would have more real friends." He said.
I was a second away from slapping him when he began to speak again,
