Lavender held me close to her for a moment before speaking
"You've stopped crying now" she stated.
I hadn't even realized that in till she mentioned it
"I guess I did" I replied.
She smiled brightly up at me and I felt my heart rate quicken at her beauty. Then she stood up and extended her hand to me, I took it with out hesitation and pulled myself up off the ground. Even though we were both now standing she didn't let go of my hand, and I would be a liar if I were to say I didn't smile to myself. Her slender hand felt warm inside mine, I couldn't help but smile at the contrast of my black nail polish compared to her light cream pink colored nails.
"It seems strange doesn't it?" she asked as she looked down at our hands.
I thought about it for a moment before surprisingly saying "No, it seems right"
Lavenders milky skin turned a slight pink at my words.
"We have to go back in soon you know" she said grimly.
She started back at the door to the hall, her eyes filled with resentment as if it would repulse her to walk back into the room. I didn't want her to have to go back in there and have to put on some fake smile and sit with the woman who was just pulling her hair moments ago. Then with out thinking I squeezed lavenders hand tighter and I began to run towards the dorms, pulling lavender behind me.
"Harmony- what- are- you- doing-" she said between deep gasps of breath, she obviously didn't run much. I didn't respond I just hand her hand tighter and kept on running till we reached the area between the A and B dorms.
"My room or yours?" I asked.
Lavender was still panting and clutching a stitch on her side even though we had already stopped running.
"What- do- you- mean-?"
I laughed before answering
"What does it look like, were ditching the stupid dinner with out stupid gardens and the rest of the stupid school and now were deciding on when room to hid out in till its over" I smiled mischievously at her. Once Lavenders breath had evened out again and she stopped clutching her side she smiled back at me
"You're going to get me in a lot of trouble" she said but it didn't seem to bother her because at that moment she pulled my hand in the direction of the B dorms. The Dorms where completely deserted because everyone was at the dinner. I walked lavender up towards mine and Chris's room and opened the door for her and we both walked in. Lavender automatically went and sat down at the edge of my bed.
"How did you know which one was mine?" I asked
"Because the beds not made" she grinned as she spoke.
I felt my face grow hot with embarrassment as I took a set besides her on the bed.
"How's your head feeling?" I asked.
I wonder if it was just my imagination but I swear at that moment her eyes grew darker, but when I blinked she looked as normal as ever.
"It's alright, but I'm sorry I dragged you into this mess"
"Don't worry it's not your fault" I said as reassuringly as possible.
Lavender laughed, but her beautiful smile didn't reach her eyes.
"It is kind of my fault, if I would have just agreed with her I could have avoided this whole conflict" she said more to herself then me.
"What where you arguing about, If you don't mind me asking" I said.
