I sat on the edge of the bed waiting for Lavender. I had heard muffled shouts coming from down stairs and I wondered if I should go down there as check on her incase her and her mother where arguing again. Then as if my thoughts had called her up Lavender walked into the room, she was smiling but she looked a bit frazzled.

"Are you alright?"

I said as I jumped up off the bed and wrapped my arms around her waist,

"I heard yelling" I added quickly.

"Yeah, that was Madison" she said.

"What happened?" I asked curiously

"She was just... She was just upset and she tends to yell when she is angry" Lavender said hesitantly.

"Was it about me?" I asked feeling slightly guilty.

Lavender paused a moment then gently placed her hand on my cheek

"No it was about me" Then she gave me another weak smile

"Do you want to talk about it?" I pressed.

Lavender sighed and went to go sit at the edge of her bed

"No, I would rather we not discuss it, let's talk about something else" she stated.

I walked over to her and sat next to her on the bed. She just sat there silently staring at me with her bright aqua eyes. I laced my fingers through hers,

"So, I noticed you don't have any books in your room, but I know you read a lot," I noted.

Lavender laughed.

"You noticed that? Well, we have a study downstairs filled with books; that's where I read at." She informed me.

"Do you read a lot when you're at home?" I asked as I traced my hands along her smooth bed sheets, feeling the texture of the silk.

"Yes, that's all I do when I'm home. Growing up I was never allowed to go out. So I would stay home and read." She said slowly.

"Were you lonely?"

The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them. She paused for a moment before speaking,

"Well, I had Madison to talk to but... yes I used to be lonely." She confessed.

"But you're not anymore?" I asked.

Then Lavenders' expression changed, she smiled brightly and her face lit up.

"Now that you're here I'm not lonely." She said.

I felt my face turn red at her words.

Lavender did one of her stop - my - heart smiles then took her free hand and ran it gently through my hair.

"Harmony..." She started.

"Yes?"

"You have given me so much I've never had before ... Harmony, I love you."

I froze at her words. She loved me ...

Lavender in all her perfection loved someone like me? She was much too good for me, and way out of my league,

"I can understand if you can't say it back, but I've released I'm in love with you and I'm not ashamed to say it out loud." She paused, waiting for me to respond.

"How ... how can someone like you love me? You're much better than I am." Lavender looked shocked at my words.

"How can you think that? You've seen my family, how I was raised, how I am now. Someone like you, so creative and such a free spirit with such independence, your presence intoxicates me. I'm enchanted by your very being; not to mention your perfected appearance." She finished.
