Ch.26

A week had passed since Sage ran out on Sawyer, and throughout the entire time, she stayed locked away in her room where she was sure that no one could get her. She stayed hidden under a pile of blankets with her curtains drawn closed making it so that no sun light would shine through the room. The entire week she stayed put, only coming up for air to go to the bathroom.

She didn't eat, she barely slept, and all she did was toss and turn thinking of the night where the impossible happened and she witness a man turn into a wolf. She'd seen someone die and she'd witness to her own horror her boyfriend display abnormal behavior, with animalist features covering his body.

She was in a state of wreck and didn't know how to deal or cope with everything.

How was she supposed to cope with anything? How was she supposed to live a normal life knowing that supernatural beings like werewolves existed? Most importantly, how was she supposed to handle the fact that the guy that she'd been dating for the past couple of months was in fact a werewolf himself?

At the very thought Sage rolled over to the side and buried herself deeper into the blankets.

Every since she left Sawyer at his home, her mind had been racking with the thoughts of him, more than it usually did. She couldn't forget the look that passed on his face as she ran away from him, screaming how much of a monster she thought he was. His face was full of heartbreak and all she could do to stop herself from reaching out to him was thinking about the wolf that tried to kill her, and the way Sawyer's face changed when she had ran from him the first time.

An entire week passed and throughout the time calls from Dakota and Mila had her putting her phone of mute. She didn't want to speak with them, because she had been smart enough to figure out that they knew about Sawyer and Holland.

The more she thought about it, the more everything started to piece together like a puzzle. Sage had piece together the reason why Dakota had been acting so weird whenever they were around Sawyer. And she remember the moment where she thought she had been dreaming on the camping trip, when she had been out in a field full of wolves. She had thought it was strange that she had been dreaming of wolves and having Dakota pop into her mind trying to pull her away from the animals. And now that she knew that it wasn't a dream she couldn't bring herself to face her own best friend.

She had no way of knowing if Dakota was a wolf herself or if she had only known about Sawyer and Holland. If that was the case she still couldn't bring herself to handle that. She and Dakota had no secrets between them, so the fact that Dakota had managed to hide such a secret was something Sage couldn't believe. She refused to believe that Dakota would willingly let her date a monster like Sawyer, knowing exactly what type of beast he was.

Sighing to herself, Sage was startled by the blaring alarm coming from her phone letting her know that it was time for her to get up for school.

Reaching out and grabbing her phone she silenced the device and rolled over in bed, not wanting to leave the room.

She closed her eyes for the briefest of moments and only opened them when the sound of her alarm came again. It was after she had dismissed the alarm did the door to her room slowly opened and in stepped her grandmother.

Sage looked over and saw the small figure of her grandmother walking over to the bed.

"Alright now Sage, it's time for you to get up. You've been locked in this room for an entire week, and I allowed that to happen because I thought that you were sick. But now here it is another week and you my sweet girl haven't moved from that spot." Lilly Ann Parker said as she walked over and placed a hand on her granddaughter's head, checking for her temperature.
