Chapter 5

Sawyer Evans couldn't help the fact that every time he heard the lunch room doors opened his heart skipped a beat and his eyes would immediately scan the room, just so he could get a quick glimpse of her.

Thinking of her had his heart sorrowing. His wolf was practically prancing on the inside.

All he wanted was her. He wanted to hold her, to look at her every chance he got. He wanted to make her smile, and to make her happy, and most importantly, he wanted her to be close to him.

Sawyer could feel the smile forming on his face as he thought of her. And as the smile grew, so did the need to find her and to be next to her.

"Isn't that about the cutest expression you ever seen?" He heard a warm soft voice say, snapping him out of his gazing around the lunch room. He turned to see a pair of ocean blue eyes looking at him. "I mean it's becoming of you Sawyer."

He smiled at the girl who had spoken to him. Taking in the rest of her, Sawyer could not deny that she very beautiful, but she had nothing he wanted when he thought about Sage. But still Mila Collins was a beauty, with her long dark hair and soft ocean blue eyes. She was one of his closest friends and judging from the way she was looking at him, he'd already knew that she had known what he was thinking about.

"Yeah it's the cutest." Holland said from beside him with a knowing smirk on his face. The rest of the table laughed a bit and looked at him.

"Stop staring at me." Sawyer said in a demanding voice, making every one at the table turn and look somewhere else. Only Camryn, and Holland were the only two still smiling at him as it they knew what he was thinking. "What?" Sawyer growled, as his eyes presumed to scan the crowded room.

"Nothing." Camryn said as his grin turned into a smile, aw he wrapped his arms around Mila, and bringing her closer to him if that was possible.

"What'cha looking for?" Holland said plopping a fry into his mouth, with a knowing look.

Instead of answering back, Sawyer only looked at his watch checking the time and glancing back at the door. He begin to bounce his leg in an impatient way, trying his best not to snap. Lunch would be over and a couple of minutes and he had yet to see her.

"Sawyer dude, you got it bad." Holland said, shaking his head and taking a drink from his soda. He knew that when a wolf found their mate, things started to get different. But for Holland seeing one of his friends find their mate, and watching the way Sawyer was acting, had made him all the more graceful that it wasn't his turn yet.

"Shut up Holland." Camryn said, knowing full well what Sawyer was going through. Though it hadn't yet happened to himself, Camryn saw first-hand how a wolf got when their mate was not near them. And with Sawyer and Sage being a new mated pair, the need for Sawyer to be around her would only increase. And since Sage was not a werewolf, and just a human, Camryn knew that there was a big possibility that if Sawyer didn't go about this the right way than, Sage would only end up pulling away, and making Sawyer suffer from rejection.

Just than the doors to the lunch room opened and in walked Sage and Dakota, talking quietly to themselves. They didn't go to the lunch line, instead they went right to the table at the in the back corner of the room, and sat down still talking to themselves.

Sawyer knew when the doors opened that she was the one walking in. His whole body was on alert and his eyes narrowed in towards the door, when knowing that she was there. And from the time she and Dakota walked in, his eyes were glued in on her, watching every move she made.
