No matter what I did I found myself in the same cafe at the end of the road, staring at a girl with a heavy typewriter in the corner. I couldn't even see her face. All I saw was a jumble of platinum blonde hair. But today something different happened. While I was sipping my bitter black coffee, she, looked at me. But she didn't look at me. Her eyes were.. bare. All pigment was lacking. The only visible colour was a cloudy grey. My eyes squinted, then I grabbed my leather side bag and shuffled quickly towards her. I wanted to know her. Even though she could never, see me.

A small thump resonated before me a soft but constricted voice followed.
"What are you typing?"
I lifted my head.
"Journalling," My words always sounded like silver to me. Tasted like aluminum. It was disgusting.
"Oh okay." Her fingernails tapped the glass table in impatience.
"Is there something you need," I moved a few strands of hair behind my ear.
"No," Her chair creaked quietly, she probably laid back, "I just want to know your name, I guess I wanted to make a new friend."
I revealed a small smile, no one has willingly just decided to be my friend. Without asking about my eyes. She hasn't asked me about my eyes. Is she blind too?
"Why haven't you asked me about my eyes?" I lifted my eyes to her. I wanted to give the appearance of looking at her even though I couldn't see anything.
"You're blind. Okay," She sighed, "Its not like I'm some dumb twat you doesn't look on the internet."
She giggled a little and I gave a small chuckle as well.
"Well its nice to meet you," I smiled a small smile and reached out my hand.
"Same to you," The girl grabbed my hand and shook it firmly.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Melody," she responded,"Yours?"
"Nia."~Now I can remember,
My new friend.
She's sweet.
Open, assertive.
Her name is Nia.
And I could care less if she's blind.
