Jake quickly ducked and barely missed the sword, which launched off the boat into the swirling sea. Jake looked up to see a deranged Captain Hook stalking towards him. Hook slowly crept up the stairs to the upper deck. Neverland seemed to hold its breath. Everyone on board just watched, with all the other pirates gone or captured, no one fought and no one moved.

"I am going to finish you once and for all boy! You are always getting in my way. You have foiled my plans for the last time!"

Izzy, Cubby, and Jake watched Hook steadily. Jake, still keeping his eyes on the mad captain, signaled for Izzy and Cubby to move down the flight of stairs closest to them. Izzy and Cubby did as they were told. Hook stood erect with another sword in hand and ready to fight. Jake didn't have any weapons and looked nervous.

Cubby found a sword lying on the deck and picked it up and ran up the stairs to Jake.
"Jake," he said almost in a whisper, "Here, make it count."

Jake looked at Cubby in gratitude and nodded his thanks. He took the sword and prepared himself.

Nothing moved. Jake and Hook kept watching each other, waiting for the other one to move.

Finally, Hook lunged at Jake with a battle cry. Jake grit his teeth and ran around Hook. They both turned and their swords met. The swords danced around each other as they kept clashing. Izzy winced at every clang as she watched furiously next to Peter and Cubby. Peter's eyes followed the swordsmen, examining the whole spectacle with a hopeful smile as he watched with interest.

Hook attacked with fury while Jake attacked with skill and courage. One of Hook's runaway sweeps, slashed Jake across the arm. Jake let out a gasp and shut his eyes for a moment. In that moment, Hook tripped Jake and sent him crashing on the deck. Izzy and Cubby gasped with horror. Then while the captain was laughing and leering at Jake, a barrel came rolling from one side of the deck. Hook jumped when he saw the barrel coming thinking he would go right over, but instead landed right on top of it. Jake had quickly rolled himself out of the way. The barrel, with Captain Hook on top of it, rolled to the other side of the deck where it hit the railing and sent Hook flying off into the Never Sea. Everyone crowded to that side of the ship to see a wet Hook being chased off by Tick Tock Crock, as well as the Never Sharks and a giant octopus. The Lost Boys set to laughing while Peter, Izzy, and Cubby ran up the stairs to Jake.
