Surprise Attack

Chapter 16

*Third Person Omniscient POV*

Time flew from when Allen struck the first battle. The others were distracted with their own opponents, but Bookman was having the most difficult time with his enemy. Wisely, the unknown Noah, was standing on the grass unmoving as Bookman slumped against the wall for support. Bookman gritted his teeth as images flew into his mind.

The Bookman Clan was supposed to be emotionless, to not care about anything besides recording history. But the images the Noah of Wisdom was showing him was nothing that Bookman could set aside.

"Lavi!" Bookman yelled watching as his apprentice was slain before his eyes. Blood splattered all over the grass of the garden they were currently fighting in. A katana, Mugen to be precise, was pulled from Lavis abdomen. Lavis body fell lifeless to the floor, blood soaking his clothing and staining the green grass red. Cobalt eyes turned to look into Bookmans eyes; those sad eyes were completely glazed over. Kanda held the blood stained sword in his hand, but the being was not himself. A flash of white hair turned Bookmans attention to see the Noah-Exorcist Allen Walker to no loom over the Japanese man.

"No..." Bookman whispered as the scene went fuzzy, changing slightly. The scenery was still in the Noah Garden, and Lavi was still dead on the grass, but he wasn't alone. Kanda, Lenalee, Izumo, Yukio, Rin, Bon, and Shima laid scattered around before Bookmans feet.

"Everyone...wake up!" Bookman yelled closing his eyes, but then he heard a crazed laugh coming from behind him. That laugh...it was so familiar it was frightening. Slowly, Bookman turned to see the Noahs behind him.

"Look at the lone little lamb." Wisely chuckled under the laughter that was radiating from Allen Walker. The laughing ceased as he wiped a tear from the corner of his eye. Jasdero, Devit, Road, Tyki, Wisely, Allen, and the Earl along with Bookman were the only living beings in the garden. "He looks frightened." Allen finished for Wisely.

"Would you like to do the honors?" The Earl asked patting Allen on his shoulder. Allen smirked activating his Innocence.

"I would be honored." Allen smirked and took a step forward charging at Bookman. The old man reacted too late as Allens claws sunk into his chest. Allen leaned in closer to Bookmans ears and breathed out sending shivers down the smaller mans body. "I never thought of any of you like family." This isn't real... "I hated you all!" This is just a hallucination...

Allen pulled out of his chest, blood flew through the air as time slowed down. Bookmans body slowly fell to the floor, his eyes were hooded barely able to catch the evil smile laying on Allen Walkers face.

"Ah, I think I broke him." Wisely chuckled cracking his knuckles. "Well, if you cannot save Allen from his misery, then that will be what will occur today. Yes, I can predict the future, and pass what I see onto others." Wisely approached the limp Bookman and kneeled before him.

Catching his attention away from the unresponsive exorcist, a loud crash sounded behind the Noah. Wisely sighed and looked around to see the Earl floating on his sword above a giant hole in he grass. The dust cleared out to reveal an unconscious Rin laying lifeless on the ground.

"How was the fight?" Wisely asked. "He's half demon is he not? That should have been fun."

"Ah it was indeed. But he is no where near as good with a sword as Kanda Yuu, or even Allen Walker. The most troublesome part was those flames. They burn you even without coming in contact. But what helped me with the fight was how he got tired quickly." The Earl landed next to Wisely and peered down at Bookman. "Everyone should be almost done with their fight. I'll go check on the others if you can please go look at how our dear 14th is doing." Without giving time for Wisely to respond, the Earl leaped onto his sword and took off into the direction of where Lenalee and Jasdevi were fighting.
