These Hidden Burns

~ Chapter 18 ~

~ Angela's POV ~

Once we had taken care of the idiotic bandits once in for all,all of us laid down to rest once again.
Katelyn fell asleep within the hour,utterly exhausted apparently.

Or at least,that's what she had said.

Aphmau and Garroth were simply looking at me.
They had kept their eyes on me since I had knocked the main bandit out with magicks.
However,they made no move to approach me,nor ask any questions.

So we were all blankly staring at the flickering and crackling flame in the center of camp.
Aphmau eventually fell asleep after another twenty minutes passed.
Garroth still remained awake.

While I was staring at the fire,I heard him shift from where he was sitting.
After another minute passed,I noticed he was sitting down next to me now.
"So.",He spoke up,breaking the seemingly never ending silence.
"So?",I questioned,tilting my head slightly to look at him.
His blue eyes flickered over my face for a moment before his eyes tested on my grey eyes.

"When did you discover you had magicks?"Garroth asked,shifting a bit as to where he was sitting.
The light from the fire added a slight glowing affect to his features in the dark.
He looked to be tanner than he actually was.

"Two years after...everyone had disappeared."I replied almost hesitantly.I preferred people not to know I had magicks.
I had learned that some people begin to think of you differently once they found out.
"Oh....I suppose it was a pleasant surprise."He lightly chuckled before he hesitated.A moment later,he draped his left arm over my shoulder.
I could feel heat rising to my face,but I simply chuckled.

The mood remained casual.

"I froze Malachi's and Levin's toy box.Levin had began to scream excitedly and Malachi was grinning and screaming too.Zoey thought something had happened,but she too,was happy once she found out what had happened.She sort of...taught me how to control and use my magicks after that point."I spoke softly,my gaze shifting from the fire and back to his face.

His cheeks were a shade of light pink.

"Mm..I suppose I can't call you hot head anymore.
I suppose I'll just start calling Katelyn that.",Garroth replied with a soft smile,chuckling a bit before he then carefully leaned over.

His eyes flickered over my face for another moment.

Then he pressed his lips against mine.
