The whole day was normal besides my first block in the morning. Our lunch was nachos which I hated. I don't like eating school lunch anyways. Every lunch I would go upstairs on the roof. Sounds pretty much like all of the stories where you'll find the whole cool squad there but no, it's just me and pretty much our whole school's' greenhouse.
As always, I bring out my laptop to continue my story from earlier this morning. One of the good things of staying at this school, is that they allow us to have a priviledge with our technology during our free time, like lunch or during our free period. I continue my story with a quote from the antagonist of my story,
"There's going to be one clear thing about me and you Megan. And that is you'll never going to be called a failure in your life, well of course not by your family. The whole school hates you for being born. You're just a worthless little girl that's not needed in any type of way. There's no way you'll be a match towards me. Not today, not EVER."
I thought in my mind how cruel that is to say to someone, no matter how much your ego means to you. It was heartbreaking to hear those types of things, especially when you say that that person has no use whatsoever in life. In my point, everyone was actually born for a reason and not just being tossed around like trash when faced with tough conditions.
Just when I was about to type more for my story, a boy with messy blonde, long(ish) hair (well iI mean longer than most boys hair) came walking in with khakis, black high top Vans and his head down low. "Hey? Do you mind?" He said pointing to the bench a few yards away from me.
"No of course not. I don't mind." I said. i wondered where he came from. I mean I'm usually the only one here alone on this rooftop. I never saw him around before.
"Hey? What's your name?" he said from across of me, making my head go up. "Uhmm heh, my name is Kamryn Reano. But you know you can call me Kam for short." I said as I tucked a lock of hair around my ear and continued typing. "Ohh. My name is Kendall. im actually a new student here." he said getting up from the bench and coming to sit by me, a few feet away actually.
"dont come too close." i said. "i dont necessarily think its good for your reputation to find yourself near me." he looked up at me with his light brown eyes. i've never anything like that before. "and why is that? are you a girl that gets bullied a lot?" he said chuckling a little. "well yeah kind of." i said, shrugging my shoulders a bit.
"oh well i dont really care about what people think about me. back down in california, i was known to be a total loner. i guess it wont change here in washington." he said looking off into the distance past the greenhouse just the opposite direction of us.
"that makes the two of us. im antisocial, so im pretty amazed that im still talking to you still." i said, starting to feel my cheeks getting red.
this is actually the first time that i've ever talked to a boy that didnt want to bully me for my whole entire life. it felt nice to actually have a friend of the opposite gender. my brother was sort of like a best friend to me, but we live together. so i guess i was used to it. besides, thats what luke is there for anyways. other brothers would wanna go out and have fun, especially when hes a senior but luke is different. he cares about our family and of course, me. i wouldnt be surprised if he picked me over another girl. come to think about it, i think luke never even had his first girlfriend yet.
"its nice to know that the first person i met here was a pretty girl..." kendall said shyly out of nowhere when i was daydreaming.
now im starting to see his cheeks getting red as well. we both sat there till lunch ended. we found out a lot about each other. like how kendall's parents were also divorced like mines and he also lives with his dad. how he doesnt have blood related siblings but his dad adopted a young girl whos eight years younger than him. he barely likes going out of the house, even if california was a place to go out to the beach and have fun. he has a laptop as well and he loves music like i do. hes basically like another me, just in a boy version.
when the bell rang, kendall stood up while i packed my laptop into my backpack. "here, let me help you up." he said extending his arm with his hand open. i hesistated at first because when guys do that to me, i grab on but they end up letting me go.
he stared at me, confused. i still looked at him worriedly if he was going to just let me go all of a sudden. "if you think that im going to let you go when you get a hold of my hand kam, im not going to. im not that rude like other boys here." he said with a warm smile. he made me feel assuring, that i could trust him. i took his hand and he pulled me up within a split second.
"wow you're very light" he said laughing really loud. "so whats your next class?" i said ignoring that i guess, compliment he gave me. "mathematics. but since im in honors i have geometry."
'oh wow. hes actually a really smart kid.' i said on my mind. "just on time. im in honors too." i said. "great lets go together then. come on. plus i probably dont know my way through the whole school, so if anything, you can be my tour guide." he said with another warm smile of his.
i could feel my heart skipping beats many times as if i didnt know how to breathe. "hey? you okay kam?" kendall said again while i regain my conscious. "oh, huh? yeah im fine. im fine. i just got a little dizzy..." i said stuttering a lot of times. "WHAT?!" kendall shouted. "do you wanna go the nurse' office? you want medicine? are you alright now? are you okay? do you need help going...." i couldnt believe he was going all on out with these questions. "look kendall im fine. its alright. im not dizzy anymore." i said giggling a bit.
he looked as red as the color of santa'a hat. i thought of how he mustve been panicing on the inside. "ohh uhmm... yeah. im sorry." he said scratching behind his ear a bit. he was probably embarassed or something.
"well lets go then. we're going to be late if we dont get there in 3 minutes." i said taking him down the stairs.
