"Why? That was specialty imported wine?" Lerman knelt in the yard. He was cradling a empty bottle with a crack in the side.
"You really have to ask why?" Lilli shot back. She lifted up her shirt, "I can show you why!" Lerman looked like someone had slapped him. Lilli felt bad when she saw the look of pain and hurt displayed on his face. But she wouldn't back down, and pushed the guilt aside. She lowered her shirt, "What if you lost control around Sophie or Zander? And don't say you woulnd't because you kinda already did."
Lerman stared at he with a blankly. "You left Zander swing on level 5! When you weren't even on the same floor as him! The warnings say not even to use level 5!"
Lerman rolled his eyes "Why bother creating a level 5?" He mumbled. "That's not the point!" Lilli continued angrily. "Did you know when I went in there, Zander was choking?"
Lerman closed his eyes, "I'm sorry. I'm not good at being a dad." Lilli snorted and walked back in the house. Lerman got up and followed her. "But maybe you shouldn't be so touchy!"
Lilli whirled around "Touchy? I'm trying to keep our family safe! If you didn't want a family, maybe you should have thought og that before you 'invited me into your bed!'" Lilli said with a sarcastic air quotations.
"I didn't expect two kids to pop out!" Lerman yelled back.
"Neither did I!" Lilli said.
"Well couldn't you have like only make one kid, or none? I mean that's is possible right!" Lerman asked.
"I don't know! I ditched sex ed. for like half the year!" Lilli yelled.
"Well," Lerman said more quietly. "If I'm not a good enough at the whole dad business, maybe I should just leave!"
Lilli stumbled backwards but straightened up again. "Fine!" she said. "Fine." Lerman echoed.
He walked to the door and opened it, "I...." he started to say but stopped. He shook his head and closed the door behind him.

The next few weeks went by slowly for Lilli. She was exhausted from being a full-time single mother. Right now the kids were sleeping thank goodness and Lilli was sitting on her boat-sized bed.
She was still ticked off at Lerman, but mostly heart-broken. Tears streamed down her face. She couldn't Lerman was actually gone. He just left, and hasn't come back. T.V. camera's searched the world when they heard the news: Logan Lerman has disappeared. No reports.
Lilli never understood why people became depressed, or really what true depression feels like. Now she does. It hurts. It's like ice, slowly encasing your whole body. Like merciless reptiles are chewing your insides. Like there's no light left int he world.
