And so begins the downfall of our resident Greek god.

Silas' POV

The morning after the family meeting I waited outside the apartment for North to pick me so we could head to the construction site. I leaned against the outside wall by my apartment door, propping my feet against the wall. My bag of tools lay on the ground at my feet. I was looking forward to getting back to doing something with my hands. I liked doing construction and plumbing work. Lately the team had spent so much time doing security and surveillance that I felt like all I did was sit in a car, watching people. I grinned as I saw North pull-up in his black Jeep sunlight glinting on the windshield.

Grabbing my tool bag, I jogged down the stairs to the car. I climbed in to the Jeep, and fastened my seat belt as he pulled away from the curb. I looked at my brother. He looked as excited as I was. "Let's do this" I said. "Let's go play with some power tools." North grinned back at me. "Hell, yeah. This is gonna be great."

We sat in comfortable silence while North drove. I was never much for talking, and I was glad that we could just sit in the car and chill. I love all of my brothers, but some of them really did like to talk a lot.

We'd been driving for about half an hour on the highway towards North Charleston when North exited the highway. Several minutes later we pulled up to a small bungalow in an older neighborhood. There were several pickup trucks parked in front of the house and I could hear the sound of hammers and nail guns. It was like music to my ears.

Climbing out of the Jeep, North looked over at me. "Let's go find Liam and find out what they need us to do"

"Sounds good to me, brother" I said pulling my tool bag out of the back of the car. Closing the door to the Jeep, I turned and took in my surroundings as we walked up the front path to the house. It was the type of neighborhood where the houses didn't look like they were made with cookie cutters. They were old, but had good bones and weren't falling apart. Good for young families starting out or older couples. It had a similar to feel to some of the neighborhoods that our family managed.

We walked up the porch steps and in to the house. We immediately spotted Liam Anderson off to the side, looking over some construction plans. "Hey, Liam. How's it going man? We heard you could use some help on this project." Liam turned as we approached, a smile on his face. We'd worked with him on a couple of projects before, and I always thought he was a decent guy. He reached out with hand. "Yes we certainly could use the y'alls help on this project" he said as we all shook hands. "We have a great young family we want to move into the house. Timing is tight, and we'd love to have them in by Christmas. North, I know you and your family have flipped houses before so you know what kind of deadlines we're up against."

Liam turned to me. "Silas, we are really glad you're able help with the plumbing for us on this project."

I nodded to him. "I'm happy to help."

"So let me show you around and we could get you started on some projects. "We're about finished with the sheet rock in the downstairs bedroom and den, so we'll be taping and mudding in those rooms today."

He walked with us from the front room, through the dining room in to what was going to be a nice eat-in kitchen. "The kitchen cabinets arrive later this morning and I'm glad you're here to help install those. The counters will be here this afternoon. After they're installed, we can get the appliances hooked up and the sink installed. Lily and Henry will be here with the grout for the backsplash tiles in a little while." He laughed. "No matter how many trips you take to the hardware store, you always need to make at least one more."

North and I followed him through the kitchen door opening down a short hallway. "We're at the roughing in stage on the two smaller bedrooms upstairs and the upstairs bathroom."

We head back down the hallway towards the main room when we stop outside of the large bedroom that was full of activity. I step out of the way so that the guy carrying a large piece of sheet rock can get in to the room. I hear a higher pitched voice call out "Dave, bring that piece over here? I'm ready for it on this wall." My head follows the sound of the voice and see a young woman dressed in painter's pants and long t shirt on a ladder near the wall. Standing above us on the step ladder like that, with the sun light streaming in from behind her, I thought she looked like an angel.

I shook my head at the thought. It must be fumes. But I couldn't help but watch as she and the other workers lifted the sheet rock in to place and screwed it in. Out of the corner of my eye I saw North start to move forward to help. I put my arm out to stop him. Just watch, I thought, looking at him. A woman using power tools. Now that's hot, I chuckled to myself. I looked back over at North and saw that she was having the same effect on him. "ómorfi kopéla me ilektriká ergaleía." (beautiful girl with power tools) He laughed and nodded. "Pós sas óti eínai séxi." (that is sexy)

Liam joined us in the room and saw what we were watching. He looked at us both with an amused expression on his face. "I don't believe you've met my daughter, have you?" he asked.
