Grace still hadn't texted me back, and it had been 3 hours since. I hoped Grace wouldn't be mad that I ditched, because now I feel horrible. I promised to my boyfriend I wouldn't ditch. I couldn't even sleep at night, I was waiting for a response. 45 minutes later, my phone got a text. I smiled, in relief. I leaned over in my bed to reach my phone, and I looked at the test. Oh, it was Lucas.

"Grace told me you ditched school. What the actual fudge, Faith? I trusted you, and when I'm not around you go off disappointing me?" His text said, along with an angry face. I broke into a panic, why would Grace do that? She's my best friend that I trusted. I slowly typed back word after word, "I'm sorry, Lucas. Winter is an awesome girl, and she just wanted me to have a break from school. Don't you understand? I like Winter, and I deserve a break from this hard of studying. If you're my actual boyfriend, you would understand!" I finally texted. I saw the chat bubble pop up. He's texting back. "I do understand Faith! I like Winter also! But just because you've been studying, doesn't mean you use it as an excuse to lie to your boyfriend and friends and to slack off! I trusted you! I am your actual boyfriend, but I don't understand... You lying to me. Goodnight, see you tomorrow," Lucas replied. He didn't even say his 'Love you!' Text. He must've been really angry.

I didn't have the guts to reply, so I put down my phone and went to sleep.

It was the morning, and I froze in shock as I remembered the conversation last night with Lucas. I didn't want to see him today, who knows how we would act to face me. I signed, and placed my hands on my stomach. I had the sudden nerve to act sick to not attend school. "Mom, I'm not feeling well," I yelled down to my mom. "Don't act sick. I saw what you texted your boyfriend," Mom yelled back, as she walked to my room. "You did what?!" I yelled, raising both of my eyebrows.

"Yeah, you heard me. You shouldn't ditch school young lady!" She yelled, slamming her hands down on the loft beside me. "Well you shouldn't look through my privacy!" I yelled back, starting an argument. "Honey, I care about you! But when you ditch school? That's not safe! You could've gotten seriously injured and no one would know!" She yelled, hugging me. "I was with Winter," I mumbled, pushing my mom off of me. She glared at me, as she motioned her hands to her hips.

"You do not understand, missy. Now get dressed. Now," Mom demanded. I rolled my eyes secretly, and walked to my room to get ready.

After I got ready, I went downstairs to find nothing on the table for breakfast. "Mom, don't be funny. It isn't okay right now," I spoke, swinging my backpack over my shoulder. "Oh, it's no joke. You aren't getting breakfast. If you're hungry, I left some lunch money on the counter for you. Bye," Mom yelled from the basement. I had do clue what she was doing.

I left the house and waited for my new bus. When it arrived, I noticed two girls crowding around Winter, and they kept raising their fists up in the air and swiping them at Winter. My jaw dropped. Why would two random girls be beating up Winter? I ran over to the girls that were huddled in front of Winter, and I grabbed both of their shoulders and threw them on the ground behind me. I never knew I could get this violent.

When I turned around to see their faces, I wasn't surprised. It was Glory and Sandy. "What the hell are you guys doing?!" I shouted, throwing my hands in the air. "Shut up. This girl here called Janice ugly and a loser, and she's our friend!" Sandy shouted back, still on the ground beside Glory. "Well, 'this girl here' is named Winter and she's my friend. And, by the way, those insults were true. Janice is also mean, rude, a brat, is spoiled... should I continue?" I asked, counting the words with my fingers. Sandy and Glory stood up, and didn't even speak to me. They just walked back to their seats, ignoring every movement of mine. "Winter, are you alright?" I asked, helping her up from the position she was in on the floor. "Yeah. Let's just sit down," She spoke, faking a smile.
