Chapter Eight- This was unexpected (What lies beneath)

Enjoy!

Dylan was standing in front of me-no, Dylan Wood was standing in front of me. My step father's boss's son. Well this was unexpected.

"Are you going to let me in or stare at me all day, baby girl." Dylan asked me with a smirk on his face. I felt the heat go to my cheeks when he called me baby girl. What the hell is with that? Nicknames?

"Sorry please come in, Dylan."

"Thank you." He stepped inside my house and I closed the door behind me.

"This way." I said as I lead the way to the dining room. My step parents and Dylan's parents were already sitting. I took the spot in front of Dylan's mom which left a seat next to me and Dylan took that as an invitation to sit there.

"Chris, this is my son, Dylan, the one I talk so much about." said Dylan's dad.

"What a fine young man, you must get all the girls at school." Chris said and Dylan chuckled.

"Oh but he does." Dylan's dad said with a roll of his eyes. Now that I look I could see the resemblance between the two just like his dad, Dylan, had jet black hair with fair skin the same straight nose and jaw line.

"Oh stop now, Henry." Dylan's mom said. Dylan and his mom both share the same grey eyes and full lips.

"I'm just teasing, Melissa, dear." Henry said to his wife.

"It's ok mum. I don't mind." Dylan said with amusement. I saw him stealing glances at me every few seconds from the corner of my eye. I didn't pay much attention to him. I was I'll admit upset with him. I know I didn't have a right to be because he was his own person and he could do whatever he wanted. I let my eye wander over to him when the food was being served. He was wearing his leather jacket like always and underneath he wore a dark blue shirt. I knew that he was wearing washed out jeans and his boots from when we were outside. Other than this nothing else happened. My step parents would talk to Dylan's and I would try my best to be invisible.

When they finished dinner they went into the living room to chat more. And now here I am awkwardly standing by the doorway of the dining room.

"Are you going to show your guest around the house or just stand there all day." He is testing me he really is.

"Careful my kindness only lasts so long, Dylan." I retorted, but he just laughed at me. I was about to tell him something but my step mom beat me to it.

"Snowphie, be a dear and show Dylan around." I plastered a fake smile and nodded my head to my step- mother.

"Looks like you have to show me around now, Snowphie." He had a smirk on his face I just wanted to slap off.

"Shut up, Dylan." I started walking up the stairs. Soon I heard his footsteps following close behind.

"That's my step parents bedroom an-"

"They're your step parents?" He asked I mentally face palmed myself. How the hell could I let that slip.

"Yeah.." I answered him in a low voice.

"What happened to your real parents?" Curiosity in his voice, I did the only thing I could think of. Change the subject.

"Down the hall are two guest bedrooms and a spare bathroom. That door right there is my room." I looked at Dylan he had a confused look on his face, but then I guess he put two and two together and saw I purposely changed the subject at hand.
