After that we headed inside. As we walked in my dad turned to us and said, "Alright. Tell me the real reason you came here."

James and I hesitated, looking at each other, before I sighed and pointed at my badges in the stairway, "Those."

My dad looked where I pointed, "Your badges?" He walked over to them and took them off the wall. He walked into a different room (his bedroom) and came back out with them in my badge case, "I'm guessing you're finally joining the Pokemon League?" He said and handed them to me.

"Yeah, you can say that, Thanks." I said as I took them. I flipped the small box open and looked at them.

I could recall every battle perfectly.

I was twelve years old when I started my journey with the Boulder Badge I obtained from Brock. He was the first loss Arcanine and I suffered while he was a Growlithe. It took two tries but we did beat him and his Onyx.
After that I ended up beating the Cerulean City Gym Leader, Misty. Growlithe almost drowned, but that's when he managed to learn to swim and bear the water. We earned the Cascade Badge from Misty that day.
Next we earned the Thunder Badge from Lt. Surge. His Raichu put up a tough fight and Electrocuted Growlithe but we did get the badge.
Next we easily Beat the Celadon City Gym by burning all of Erika's grass Pokemon.
We defeated Koga's Poison type Pokemon almost just as easily, and earned the Soul Badge. Around the area of the gym afterwards was when I caught a Vulpix that would later evolve into Ninetales.
Growlithe and I had some trouble beating Sabrina's nasty Psychic type Pokemon. We lost the first battle and Growlithe was in worse condition than Vulpix. I hated losing and decided that maybe if we were stronger we could win. I bought two fire stones and evolved both Vulpix and Growlithe and trained for a week against wild Psychic Pokemon until Arcanine could Surpass the fire controlling power of the Psychic Pokemon. We went back to the gym and earned the Marsh Badge.
Arcanine and I promised each other we'd never lose another battle, and easily overpowered Blaine's Magmar and other fire types, earning ourselves the Volcano Badge.
Finally we got to Viridian City after lots of traveling and training. Arcanine, along with several other Pokemon I had, were strong and ready for this battle. It was a hard battle. I beat four of his Pokemon with some of mine, and I was down to Ninetales and Arcanine. Giovannie threw out his Nidoking and it attacked Ninetales, and I was left with Arcanine as my only option now. I threw Arcanine out, feeling nervous as ever, this battle was going to be close. Arcanine and Nidoking fought, almost evenly matched. Nidoking was ready to launch one finally attack at Arcanine and I panicked and accidentally yelled, "Fire Roar Blitz!" that was the first combination move Arcanine and I ever used. It was the combination of Roar and Flare Blitz, that earned me my Earth Badge.

That was also the day he asked to recruit me for Team Rocket. He said I was powerful and could turn into something great. I agreed to train with him. I told my dad I was offered to become a Gym Leader because I was scared to tell him I was a joining Team Rocket. I spent two years training and when I was fifteen I started my thievery. I excelled greatly, moving up from class to class quickly within a year. When I was fifteen I was assigned to work with Houston. I quickly became an A class thief, and climbed up the ranks, becoming number one.

Looking back on my entire past made me cry a little. Arcanine came out of his poke'ball on his own again to cheer me up, "I'm okay Arcanine..." I said and held the badges To him, "Do you remember these?" I hugged Arcanine and cried into his fur while he sniffed the badges.

I heard my dad laugh, slight unsureness in his voice, "Don't cry now, Tess..."

I looked up at him and wiped my eyes dry, laughing, "I'm sorry. I'm just tired..."

My dad laughed, "You can stay here tonight if you want. Make that room of yours less empty."

I nodded, "Thanks dad. Could James stay in the guest room?"
