"Tessie... Tessie wake up... We just got to Pallet town." James said, waking me from my nap. It was now nightfall like I expected it to be, and we were now just getting into Pallet Town. I looked at Meowth, who was now asleep in the back.

I yawned, "Alright, uh.." I rubbed my eyes, "Up here turn right and-" James followed my instructions up until we found my dads house, "This is it." The house was two stories high, light blue and pretty nice looking. Outside there were two flower beds, one on each side of the house, and a white mailbox by the door. We parked beside it, to not draw attention to ourselves. I sat staring at the house, memories flooded back to me. The day I left, all the lies I told my dad, the look on his face....what was I going to say to my dad.. I was so nervous.

"Hey." James said to get my attention, "Are you okay?"

I shook my head, "I can't do this..." I combed my hands through my hair, "I can't face my dad..." Suddenly all my emotions were getting the best of me.

James shut the car off, "Hey, hey, calm down you'll be okay."

"No I won't be..." Tears rose in my eyes, "I haven't talked to him at all in two years. What am I going to tell him? He's going to hate me!" I was crying now. I failed, I let James see me cry.

James quickly got out of his side of the car and came over to mine, and opened the door, kneeling down beside me, "Tessie... Calm down.." He softly grabbed my hand, "He's your own father, he won't hate you..."

I held my head in my hands, "I lied to him... I lied to my own dad. He has all the reason to hate me! I didn't talk to him for two years.." I continued to cry.

James sighed and pulled me out of the car and into tight hug, "Tessie I need you to listen to me." He said softly into my ear. I tried my hardest to calm myself down to sharp breathing, before he continued, "You're okay. I'm here with you. Everything will be okay. I'll be right there with you when you talk to him. There's nothing to be afraid of."

"B-but I-" I started to say before he just hugged me tighter again.

"That doesn't matter anymore. It was in the past we can straighten things out with him. We don't have to tell him you're a thief just yet, but you have to talk to him." James pulled away, but kept his hands on my shoulders, "You won't be doing this alone. I'll be right next to you."

I nodded, "O-o-okay..." I wiped my nose on my sleeve and sniffled loudly before quickly wrapping my arms around James's neck, "Thank you." I whispered.

James hugged me back tightly, "Don't worry about it." We stayed like that for a while, but I enjoyed it. As the hug loosened and I kept my position, James wiped the tears off my cheeks and smiled, "Don't cry anymore. The number one Class A thief is supposed to be a good example for everyone else." He teased.

I laughed, "I know, I know." I said, still sniffling slightly.

James smiled softly and paused. We both just kind of looked at each other, until James started slowly leaning in again. I moved up towards him, and we were back to where we were last time before we were interrupted. I could feel James soft but slightly shaky breathing on my lips. This time we actually made contact. I closed my eyes and kissed James back as he kissed me. It was nice, and gentle, it was obvious both of us were waiting for this. I might as well admit now, I was actually starting to grow to like James. We soon pulled away at the same time, blushing completely pink.

James looked over my face before quickly looking away, "I-I'm sorry... That wasn't really the perfect timing..."

I laughed, "James, it's okay."

He nodded, blushing worse, "Alright..."

We pulled away from each other. I started to dry my eyes and calm myself while James worked on straightening himself out. "W-we should get working on getting my badges..." My heart was still beating uncontrollably.
