Claire's POV~

I stand in front of the mirror while buttoning my shorts. I scan my unclothed stomach and notice that I'm already getting tan from the hot Mexico sun. Lifting a thin white t-shirt over my head, I let out a tired sigh. Today is my first philosophy class here and I'm excited, but I just wish that I wasn't so exhausted. I haven't been getting as much sleep as I'd like.

Now fully clothed, I throw my hair into a ponytail and grab my bag. "Do you want me to wait for you so we can walk there together?" I ask Jasmine, who is an inch away from her mirror, trying desperately to perfect her winged eyeliner. "If you don't mind...," she says, still focused on her makeup. I sit on my bed, patiently waiting for her to finish.

A few minutes go by and I'm staring at the ceiling when she finally says,"Done! Okay, let's go." She grabs her purple drawstring bag and we walk out of the dorm. "So, what do you do when you're not in school?" Jasmine asks, rummaging through her bag to find a pair of sunglasses. She pulls out a pair of black ray-bans and puts them on her face.

"Well, I mainly just hang out with friends. I'd like to go to the beach more, but I just never get to do it," I answer, avoiding mentioning Harry. Jasmine nods. "Boyfriend?" I shake my head, feeling as my cheeks deepen in color. "Oh, girlfriend?" I shake my head again. "Oh no, I had a boyfriend, but we, uh, we had to breakup."  She kicks the ground as we walk. "Sorry to hear that," she says.

"What about you?" I ask, squinting my eyes and finding myself wishing I had a pair of black Ray-bans right about now. Next time I'll be sure to grab my sunglasses before we leave, I think to myself. "I have a boyfriend. His name is Keegan. We've been dating for six years now." I widen my eyes, wondering what it would be like to date someone for that long. "Things were a little rough when I told him I was coming down here to study for a few weeks, but he's gonna try to make it down for a couple days," she says, a smile on her face.

I nod along, feeling a slight pang of jealousy. Then, we arrive at the building that our class is in. The yellow painted building is small from the outside, but once we walk in, it seems much more spacious.

Jasmine and I sit together in the front of the room, just like I prefer. The professor, Emilio Gonzalez, faces us, his gelled black and gray hair shining under the ceiling lights. "Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the 2016 intensive world philosophy study session, led by myself. I'm Emilio Gonzalez, and I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks with you all."

His smile is genuine and the wrinkles on his face move around when he speaks, hardly with an accent, I may add. I look next to me at Jasmine who is staring contently ahead of her, an open pen in her left hand.

Harry's POV~

"What happened to you finding a job?" Louis asks as he walks into our dorm, tossing his backpack onto the floor. I take the earbuds that were playing Landslide by FleetWood Mac out of my ears and shrug. "All you do after class is come back here and listen to music all day," he pesters, sitting on his bed.

"I guess I am lazier than I thought, huh?" Louis laughs and nods. "Yeah, you really are." I sit up, swinging my legs over the edge of my bed. "Andy and I are going to a party tonight, wanna come?" He asks, opening a bottle of water. Our entire dorm has just accumulated plastic water bottles in unhealthy numbers.

"Yeah, sure. Sounds like fun," I answer, willing to do anything that's gonna get me out of the dorm for a good time. "You're doing that thing again," Louis says, staring at me. I tilt my head. "What thing?"
