Mumbling throughout the classroom, nervousness beginning to compromise confidence. Why was everyone so scared, you ask? Clearview High's exam period had begun, putting everyone in the class of 2015 on edge. This applied to everyone, except for two individuals, who seemed to be overflowing with confidence. Garrett Clint and Elena Arrington, a now open couple preparing for their English exam.
"I guess everyone is pretty nervous, huh ..." Garrett glanced around the classroom, surveying the baffled and scared expressions everyone in the class wore.
"This why you study, Garrett." Elena smiled as she leaned across her desk, dropping an eraser on Garrett's desk.
"What's this? I already have-" Garrett searched the small backpack he brought to the classroom, and rifled through the pencil case. He had forgotten his eraser.
"Okay, how did you know?"
"Sixth sense." Elena chuckled, still smiling as she did. Garrett had to cover his face, still barely able to handle the sweet smile he loved so much.
"All right everyone, take your seats. Bring your backpacks to the front of the classroom and turn off all your phones, your exam will begin now."
The English teacher, Mr. Wellis, walked in with a heavy pile of papers in his arms as he called out the instructions. Students promptly moved their bags forward, including Garrett and Elena. This was their second English exam together; English class had a somewhat sentimental meaning for them both.
"Ready?" Garrett whispered to Elena softly, hovering his hand to cover his mouth as he whispered.
"Of course." Elena whispered back.

"Hey guys!" Turk ran down the hallway to Elena and Garrett's classroom, seeing them exit their classroom.
"Shush! We finished early!" Garrett said, still speaking quietly as he tried to calm Turk down.
"Whoops, sorry." Turk said apologetically.
"What's the lowdown on Carson, Dylan, and Lora?" Elena whispered towards Turk, standing beside Garrett as she spoke.
Turk shrugged, leading the two down the hallway to check if their three friends were done. It was convenient that Dylan and Lora had a Health studies exam together, and Carson's exam room for Filming was just next door. Dylan left his classroom, ducking as he exited the room, since his giraffe-like body was too tall for the doorway. His hair had been clipped behind his ears, the other part of his hair slightly covering his face. His hair colour was the same as his sister, both having light brown hair. His gentle attitude made you wonder why he was a delinquent in the first place.
"Hey guys." Dylan said calmly and quietly, glancing over his shoulder to see Lora still writing her exam.
Turk, Elena, Garrett mouthed a 'hi' back, waving their hands. It was agreed through non-verbal means that they would wait for Lora and Carson to finish on the first floor, rather than hovering around their exam rooms.
"I'm so happy they hold all our exams in the upper floors, I can speak normally down here!" Turk cheered, stretching as they walked to their school's cafeteria.
"This school isn't small, so we've got the room for this." Elena said as she stood slightly closer to Garrett, taking him by surprise.
Dylan smiled at the two and walked ahead, reserving a table for his friends. Turk noticed Elena seeming kind of quiet and close to Garrett, following Dylan's example. Garrett smiled at his friends and walked behind the doors, leading Elena with him.
"What's wrong? Is everything okay?" Garrett asked, sounding worried.
"I just ... I don't know, I guess I just feel a bit emotional ..." She said as she trailed off, turning her head downwards.
"Hey ..." Garrett lifted up her head so they made eye contact, his icy blue eyes meeting her cobalt blue eyes. "Emotional about what?"
"You." Elena leaned forward as she hugged him, gripping him with a tight hold. This girl knew how to make him blush, despite this not being the first time she had done something like this.
"I don't want to be apart ... twelfth grade is halfway done ..."
"Don't worry Elena ..."
"Don't worry?" She looked up at him with a confused look.
"I mean, what I'm trying to say is ..." Garrett sighed, finally collecting his thoughts. "Look, I know I'll still be with you 'cause I love you. Even if we end up going to different places, I always want to be with you. Even when we are done here, I'll still be with you." Garrett smiled at Elena, moving her hair back behind her ears.
"Promise ...?"
"Promise."
