[Elena's P.O.V]
During the night, I decided to stay with Garrett, since I was so worried about him. I wanted to peacefully sleep and hope the next day never arrived... I was tired of all the conflict. When I woke up, I saw Garrett was no longer beside me; I immediately ran downstairs and saw him eating toast and jam.
"Mornin' Elena."
"M-Morning ... don't scare me like that!" I gently slapped his shoulder, childishly acting annoyed.
"Look, today's the big day, right? Besides, we won't have time for the plan if I just sit around." Garrett said in a muffled tone, chewing his toast.
"I know, I know ..." I pulled out the chair, sitting down beside him after making myself a piece of toast. My parents must be asleep still, since their door was closed ...
"Don't worry, I got this. This plan will fool a dimwit like him, I don't think I'll get hurt."
"If you say so ... that doesn't really stop me from being worried though."
Garrett looked up at the clock on the wall and stood up out of his chair, acting accordingly.
"Looks like we have to go now."
"But Garrett-"
He stuffed the remaining piece of toast in my mouth, laughing to himself a little.
"I know, it's only 9:00 in the morning, so we have a six hour time gap, but we will need all of that time to execute the plan. Your parents and Uncle Dray are also getting ready, so just remind them about the call."
"Mhmmf." I said with toast in my mouth.
"After you're done, we will take a drive to the alley, okay?" He smiled at me, washing his hands in the sink and then drying it off with a hand towel.
"Y-Yeah." I felt my face warm up, my cheeks quickly turning red. His smile is too cute.
After talking to his uncle and my parents, Garrett and I zoomed back to the city centre on one of his uncle's bikes, towards the alleyway where we met. We had a bunch of supplies we needed for the plan strapped on the back of the bike. Garrett drove the bike into a "P" underground lot, parking the bike. We both took off our helmets, carefully placing them on the bike as we picked up the supplies. It was time to go to work. We walked over to the alleyway where we first met, seeing it the state it was in was exactly the same.
"I know it was a strange way of meeting each other, but this brings back memories." Garrett stared up, looking around at the walls.
"Yeah, it's weird." I smiled to myself as I looked around the alleyway.
The alleyway branched off a side street, so it was pretty secluded. Our plan would hopefully expose the truth of the actual perpetrators, as well as information about Terry and Garrett's family.
"Elena."
"Yes?"
Before I could react, I felt his hand move around my hip, pulling me towards him. He leaned down, gently touching his lips against mine. My face turned bright red as I gently gripped his shirt collar, moving slightly closer to him. He pulled away before I could make my own move, his face also bright red. My hands were still on his shirt collar and his hand was still on my hip; I almost lost myself staring at him. The fact that I considered doing a little more made me embarrassed. W-Why would he do that? When did he become comfortable enough to do that?
"G-Garrett, what was that for?"
"Payback for yesterday, for doing that in front of your parents. I was going to explode, you know." He tried to hide his blush, preoccupying himself by setting up equipment. Fair enough, but I don't know if he realizes I didn't stop because I could tell he wasn't going to pull away. "It was also to reassure you." Garrett glanced over his shoulder at me, smiling as his blush began to fade away.
"Reassure me?"
"I don't want you to be worried about me today, so I did that as my way of telling you that 'everything will be fine'."
"Garrett ..." I smiled, helping him with the set up.
"If it doesn't go as planned, I'm going to wing it." Garrett said as he wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"We have to make this work no matter what."
As much as I wanted to fight against his previous statement, I had to agree with him. We had to make this work.
