"Did you see those two?"

"They're so perfect!"

"Goals!"

"That's got to be the worst kind of couple."

"Holy crap, she's beautiful!"

"He's handsome!"

"They must be cool people, I'm kinda envious ..."

Garrett and Elena, in less than a year, had become the 'it' couple; Pseudo celebrities, if you will. They're names circulated throughout all of the twelfth graders, and even eleventh graders. All kinds of murmur and gossip were now centered around these two, both good and bad.

"Elena ... I made it ..." Garrett panted as he escaped the third floor hallways, standing next to Elena.

"Why are you so out of breath?" She brushed his hair back, seeing him panting.

"Those eleventh grade boys won't stop asking how I 'got' you." Garrett looked a little upset, crossing his arms as he leaned his head against Elena's shoulder. Would their underclassmen believe them if Elena or Garrett told them they got together based on being targeted by crime families, as well as constantly being on the move to solve the murders of their family members? It was extremely unlikely.

"Well, that story would take some time." Elena chuckled as she lifted Garrett's head up from her shoulder, planting a kiss on his cheek before holding his hand.

"Everyone downstairs?"

"You bet. Oh, I have someone to introduce to you." Elena smiled as she held Garrett's hand, walking down the stairs to the first floor.

Elena lead Garrett into a wide hallway, where a bunch of students were sitting against the lockers, chatting with their friends and eating their lunches. Elena walked a little further to see a group of twelfth grade girls pooled around one girl.

"Look, we really need money for lunch today, otherwise we'll starve." One girl from the posse said, making a mocking tone.

"I-I only have enough for myself ..." The girl being cornered answered back quietly.

"Well then, go sponge off of someone else so we can eat!"

Elena immediately stepped in, moving in front of the shy girl.

"Stop it, all of you."

"E-Elena? What's wrong?" The girl who lunged forward stepped back, surprised to see Elena defending this girl.

"How immature can you guys get? We are going to graduate this year, and you still can't help but pick on people your own age." Elena said sternly, crossing her arms as she glared at the posse.

"Seriously, who even does this? Grow up." Garrett stepped in as well, looking down at the posse with the same expression as Elena.

The group of girls began to swoon and almost attacked Garrett. He instantly ran away from them, circling his way back to Elena, panting yet again. The posse didn't let up, still right on his tracks. The only reason Garrett fixed himself up was for Elena; not for unwarranted attention based on superficial thinking. "Honestly.." Elena let out a sigh, grabbing Garrett by his shoulders; she pulled his face down towards her, forcing an aggressive kiss. Garrett had no time to react.

She pulled away, saying, "He is my man, so back off." Elena said angrily, gently letting Garrett readjust himself. Garrett could barely contain himself, seeing Elena so assertive. When did she become this badass? Well, she always has been, but that was just friggin amazing. The posse immediately backed away, running off sobbing melodramatically. Elena turned around and looked at the girl, who was standing dizzily. Elena did just kiss Garrett right in front of her, which made her reaction natural. Both Elena and Garrett became equally embarrassed, looking away from each other.

"I-I'm so sorry Gabrielle ..." Elena said stuttering, her face still flushed in a bright red.

"I-it's okay ..." The girl slowly recollected herself, darting her eyes back and forth from Elena to the ground.

"G-Garrett, this is Gabrielle. She is really good friends with Lora and Dylan, and just transferred her a week ago." Elena pointed to Gabrielle, her embarrassment slowly disappearing.

"H-hi." Gabrielle waved to Garrett nervously, staring up at him as he towered over her.

"Nice to meet you." Garrett smiled at Gabrielle, placing his hands on his sides. Elena moved beside him also smiling.

Gabrielle Sandford. A childhood friend of Dylan and Lora, who had just moved back to Athanas city. She was there for the first half of grade 9, but went away to study abroad in France at a culinary school. She was a born genius, not just academically, but of course, in the culinary arts. She was only 5''2, couple with wavy platinum blonde hair, curling at the bottoms. She wore sleek black glasses, which fit her almost too perfectly.

"Say, I'm friends with Dylan. Has he always been like that?" Garrett asked curiously, looking at Gabrielle.

"H-He has, but if you bring up his favourite things, he's super animated, or when something makes him genuinely mad." Gabrielle let out a chuckle, but immediately closed her mouth, hiding behind Elena.

"You're still new." Elena laughed pointing at Garrett.

"I-I promise I'll be more talkative later." Gabrielle said quietly to Garrett.

"It's no problem. Let's go eat with everyone else."

"Gabby!" Lora immediately stood and ran towards Gabrielle, splaying her arms out. Gabrielle laughed as she received the hug from Lora. "Hey Lora." Gabrielle smiled as she looked at Lora, who was only a couple inches taller than her.

"Hey!" Turk and Carson said in unison, waving at Gabrielle as they sat down on the mat they had their lunches on. Gabrielle had already met Turk and Carson before her encounter with Garrett.

"Hi!" Dylan immediately stood up from where he was sitting, standing up to hug Gabrielle. Lora smiled as she sat back down, but the rest of the group was in awe.

"Oh and um, Gabrielle ...?" Elena asked nervously.

"Yes?" Gabrielle adjusted her glasses, looking towards Elena as she freed herself from Dylan's hug.

"We apologize deeply." Garrett said as both him and Elena bowed to Gabrielle.

"F-For what?"

"There's a mob coming ... cause they saw that whole defence order thing in the hallway." Both Elena and Garrett said quietly.

"What? No. Ain't letting that happen." Dylan marched down the hill where their lunch spot was, stretching his arms and cracking his neck. He even used that kind of lingo, which normally, you would never hear Dylan use.

"Same!" Carson ran down to catch up to Dylan, also stretching as they saw an oncoming group of teenage girls and boys trying to get to the hill. Both Dylan and Carson grinned as they clenched their fists competitively.

"Why is that happening ...?" Gabrielle asked in a worried manner.

"That's what you get if these two defend you. You know Clearview High's famous couple, so you're going to get that attention now." Lora laughed as she sat next to Turk, smiling as she looked up at Gabrielle.

"C-Clearview High's ... 'famous couple'?" Gabrielle looked at Elena and Garrett, who still had their heads bowed down.
