[Elena's P.O.V]

Before I tell you about my day, I am Elena Arrington. Seventeen years old. Blonde. Blue eyes. I am the only child of my parents, who are the President and Vice president of Arrington Technology, a software company that programs many electronics in Athanas city. I got used to my mundane life, until the day I am about to describe.

I went to school like I usually did. I hung out with my best friends, Sheila Sampson, and Lora Parker. I went to class like an average student. All that changed after 6:00 p.m:

When I was walking home, I saw two delinquents smoking and laughing. After being distracted momentarily, I got a call from my mother, saying that she needed me to pick up something for her from a store called Perf Perfume. Apparently, my mother had an item there on hold for her, but was going to be late coming back from work. So, I headed through the downtown area to get to this store. "Excuse me, but are you the daughter of William Arrington?" said a voice from behind me. It was a mature voice, but the person did not sound exactly like an adult. "Yes I am-" I turned around naively, only to see that it was the same two delinquents I saw when I was about to walk home. My god, they were tall. "Bingo. We've got 'er Derr," said the taller boy out of two. Both of them grabbed my arms and dragged me into an alley. "Stop!" I yelled, trying to break out of their grasp. "You hear that Derrick? 'Stop!' she says!" One of the boys burst into laughter as they mimicked me, the other one beginning to laugh as well, pushing me against the wall. "Jared, we've caught ourselves a gold tuna." The shorter one said. So, the taller one is Jared, and the shorter one is Derrick. Wonderful.

'What do you need from me?"

"Nothing much." Jared said sternly. "Derrick, tell her what we want."

Derrick smirked and nodded: "Cough up some dough girlie, or you croak!"

Derrick said out of nowhere and choked me. I could barely speak.

"N-no ..." I said, my voice sounding raspy. Why was I in a situation like this? Suddenly, out of nowhere, came another, tall person, who had a similar look compared to Derrick and Jared. There was something different about him, and in a strangely reassuring way. He glared at the person choking me, saying, "I'll crack them if you don't let go." He sounded serious, in a way that did not frighten me; I never thought a delinquent would be like that. Through a series of punches, kicks, and me ducking, he had singlehandedly beat down two delinquents. I wondered if that was normal for him, since he seemed calm even as he bled.

"You're very strong."

"What the hell were you doing, getting involved with guys like that?!"

"It's tough to explain." I said calmly, which he picked up on.

"Can you stop acting so calm, it's pissin' me off! Most girls run away when they see guys beat the shit out of each other!"

I tried to hold back my laughter, but it was too hard. I just burst out laughing. Saving me, beating Jared and Derrick, and then yelling at me. Part of it was relief, but this person was priceless. "You really are something else ..." I said, recollecting myself. "I'm Elena Arrington." I held out my hand for him to shake. He moved his hands to his pockets, refusing to shake my hand.

"I am not shaking your hand."

"Okay, okay, suit yourself." I said, resting my hand on my hip. "By the way, what's your name? You didn't say." I gave him a look of curiousness, hoping he would answer.

"I intend on leaving it that way."

"Why?"

"You're going to regret knowing it."
