*Recap*
"I am very sorry to inform you that you are beginning to develop leukemia."
~*Harry's POV*~
Leukemia? Like, as in cancer? I looked over at Lilah, she had a blank expression. The air was filled with tension and anticipation. I took a deep breath and prepared myself for this battle. Maybe I could fight it off? I'm pretty strong.. I can't leave my Daughter and Wife, they need me. And I need them.
"I-I have-" I started, but Lilah cut me off.
"Leukemia." I looked over at her in shock. She had silent tears streaming down her already tired looking face. Her hands were held tightly together, she was glaring at the floor; like it was its fault. But it was no ones fault.
"You've got to be kidding." Lilah seethed, sending a death glare to the Doctor.
"I don't 'kid', Mrs.Styles." The Doctor snapped.
"C'mon guys, could we just stop and figure this out?" I said quietly. Lilah sighed and nodded.
"Mrs. Styles I need you to leave the room." The doctor ordered. She opened her mouth in protest but I put my hands up to silence her.
"Please, love." She looked at me sadly but nodded and left nonetheless. I coughed to cover up the chocked out sob I knew was coming. Even the thought of me leaving Darcy and Lilah scared me to death.
"I have to run some tests, I need to take your blood any hook up some tubes. Alright?" The Doctor explained. I simply nodded. The Doctor- I never caught his name. I peered at his name tag that read, 'Richard'. Richard took out a needle and hooked it up to a blood bag, I was numb to the feeling of it being pushed into my flesh. He prodded at me more, sticking tubes in my arms, and neck. He said it would help me in the long run. That the medicine he is giving me will make me stronger. I just nodded weakly at everything he said. It's not that I wasn't feeling good; he said it would grow on me after this week. No, I was hurting. Because what if I don't make it..? I can't even bare the thought.
"I'm very sorry, Mr.Styles." Richard said sympathetically. I didn't respond, because I know that he has to say this to everyone who is diagnosed with some kind of disease. It's like his job to say I'm sorry, but I bet he's used to it. I'm just another unlucky patient. He walked out of the room, and Lilah ran in. She jumped on my lap and cried into my neck.
"Harry- I.. I can't! I can't be here without you." She sobbed. My heart shattered into about a million pieces, she sounded so defeated, so.. Broken. I took her into my arms and held her as she cried.
"It's going to be alright, baby. Don't cry." I whispered soothingly into her ear. She didn't respond, the only noise leaving her pink lips were painful sobs. I rubbed little circles in her back, attempting to calm her down, which worked. She actually fell asleep on my shoulder with her legs wrapped around my torso. I was oddly comfortable so I didn't move her, I let her sleep. Because in her sleep, nothing worried her.
I let a few stray tears slip out, I knew I couldn't hold them back for long. I remember the others in the hallway, and the thought of how they would all take it made me want to curl into a ball and hide away. My world seemed like it was slowly crashing down around me. I was overwhelmed with fear and paranoia, and trust me; those two combined is a scary feeling.
"Leukemia?" I mumbled incoherently. The word sounded foreign as it slipped off my tongue. I buried my head in Lilah's neck, trying to hide away from every single damn problem that was being thrown in my face with no mercy.
"Harry I love you." I heard Lilah whisper.
"Delilah I love you so much more, words can't explain. And no matter what happens, can you promise me one thing?" I asked. She nodded into my shoulder.
"Please, don't ever leave Darcy. And don't ever forget me.." I said, mustering up my strongest voice.
"I promise, Harry." She vowed.
"We have to tell the others." I sighed, she nodded and got off me. She looked exhausted, the light in her eyes wasn't there. Her pink lips were in a tight frown. I took her hand and led her out, everyone was out there by now. I took a deep breath, preparing myself to tell my family what is happening to me.
"Guys, I need to tell you something." I started slowly. They all nodded.
"I have.. Luekemia." I whispered.
