***WAAH! This is it! It won't take me long to write something new (sequel or a whole new Levihan? Your call, guys!), but here it is: the Epilogue!***
Epilogue
A wedding outside the walls wasn't easy to accomplish. However, Levi and Hanji wouldn't have it any other way, so, with their comrades flanking them, the two made it out to a forested area beyond Wall Maria in formal attire. It was so odd for Levi to see Hanji dressed in all white, her transparent veil shielding her face. She was so breathtaking, he almost found himself not able to focus on getting to the destination. And, for once, Hanji was spotless. That was a sight the captain never wanted to forget because, after they were married, he would probably never see it again.
Levi and Hanji read their vows under, as Hanji requested, a tree in bloom. Cream hued petals floated to and fro as Levi promised to care for Hanji just as she had cared for him: with compassion and confidence. The wind blew gently as Hanji promised to be a supportive wife, but, even more important, Levi's most reliant comrade and underling. And as the couple shared a kiss, the main group of soldiers applauded while the soldiers several miles out kept what Titans they saw at bay.
That was six years ago. Levi was now thirty-five years old; Hanji, thirty-three. Turned out, Levi had been named the new Commander of the Survey Corps, so Judge Zackly's sentence for him was completely hilarious. That was just fine with the couple, though. Though it gave Levi more work, it meant that he still had a job.
Though Levi was still the more muscular of the two, Hanji had put on quite a bit of muscle from using the 3DMG almost daily. Now, she could almost go toe-to-toe with Levi in combat training, but she, like everybody else, still fell short. Sometimes, though, while the two were training, Levi would end up spacing out and Hanji would take him out, which led to her childish victory dance. The doctor couldn't believe it – her ascending strength amazed even Humanity's Strongest.
What Levi didn't tell Hanji was that it wasn't when she was training that he thought she was her most beautiful. It was when she had been pregnant.
For obvious reasons, Hanji became pregnant almost immediately after the honeymoon, which Levi couldn't help but smirk at. The first four to five months, Hanji was pretty much the same. She still went out on missions (though glued to Levi's hip at his command) and she still studied Titans (though Moblit begged that she not). Once she hit her sixth month, though, Hanji slowed down tremendously, and it killed her. Levi had to constantly tell her not to push herself beyond her limits – advice she constantly ignored, as was evident by her constant fainting all over the military base.
Though he wouldn't tell her, what Levi had found the most memorable about Hanji's pregnancy was the night she had went into labor. Levi hadn't been able to sleep, so he was sitting on the windowpane of his cabin. Out of nowhere, a strong gust of wind slapped Levi upside the head, but it came from the inside of the cabin. Then, the hairs on Levi's neck stood on end as he heard a horrible groaning from the room that had recently been added to the back of the cabin.
When Levi went inside, Hanji was sitting awkwardly at the desk, her face cherry red and covered in sweat. As she ran a pencil over paper, Levi slowly asked, "Hanji, is that you?"
"You mean the – UGH! – the groaning? Yeah, that's me."
"Well, why?"
