***"The ending of the Chapter 7!" you said, "There wasn't enough fluff!" (No one actually said that XD) Well, read the end of this. The photo should give you enough of a hint. And, SPOILERS: Erwin will become the bad guy. I already kind of don't like the guy, so that was fun to do! ***

                                                                                Levi's POV

The hope, when the Survey Corps went beyond the walls, was always the same: venture out far and have few fatalities. The result was also the same: they never got far and there were more fatalities than anyone could number.

They weren't but ten miles from Wall Rose when four meter Titans showed up on the right flank of the group. The first red flare shot high into the sky, and then more followed, causing Hanji to squeal in delight.

"Levi~, why didn't you ask to be in one of the scouting groups? I wanna' see the Titans!"

"Not the time!" Levi snapped, his eyes never looking anywhere but forward. When Hanji whimpered, Levi knew that she had given up for the time being and was focused again.

"We're headed for the breached area" Erwin called out, "Be at the ready."

"Yes, sir!"

A few seconds later, a green flare was shot: what Titans had been spotted were eradicated.

"Alright, full speed ahead!"

As they went forward, Levi snuck occasional looks at Hanji. Yet again, Hanji was calm and collected, her eyes on the scenery in front of her.

She's something, Levi thought. As a smile threatened to come onto his face, he added, but I like it.

"TITAN AT TWELVE!"

What?

Sure enough, a 3-meter was heading towards the front of the group, its bulging eyes a fright and a hilarity at the same time. Levi sped up, his swords at the ready.

"Erwin, keep an eye on Hanji!"

"Wha-?!" Hanji cried, "I'm coming, too!"

"No, you're not!"

Levi broke formation, his only thought now the Titan in front of him. It was all so ironic: being on the military base gave him flashbacks, but being out here gave him a rush he hadn't had in months.

The Titan stumbled along, but Levi's movements were fluid as his grappling hooks slammed into the nearest trees. Lifted high in the air, Levi unhooked himself and then spun down quick, the sound of sliced air a natural high. The air was then replaced with flesh, and red ribbons flew.

SLAM!

Hmph. An easy kill.

The Titan slammed into the ground, and Levi heard Hanji shriek, "WAAH! I didn't even get a good look at it!"

I take it back. Her enthusiasm is not cute. It's stupid. Stupid!

Levi went to make a retort, but couldn't as his eyes scanned the horizon and noticed a hoard of flesh. The Titans could smell the human blood, and were making their way towards the meal.

"Everyone," Levi said, "get ready!"

"YAHOO~!"

"Huh?"

A small group of soldiers passed Levi up, their swords at the ready. Amongst them was none other than Hanji, her cheeks aglow in excitement.

"Oh, my – hey, you!"
