Vanessa's point of view
"Miranda?" I asked and she just walked into me, engulfing me in a hug. "Hey hey hey, don't cry." I said as she sniffled.
"What happened?" I asked as the bell rang, signalling that we were late for class. "Talk to me Andy, what's wrong?"
She shook her head and I nodded, deciding not to push it. "Girls! Where are you supposed to be?" A yard duty spoke and I turned around.
"Choir, I'm sorry sir. We'll be right there." I said and he crossed his arms, standing tall and waiting for us to move. I sighed and forced Miranda to walk into class because this guy was so inconsiderate.
We walked in, Miranda clutching to me like her life depended on it, and the teacher glanced at us. "Mir-"
I shook my head and he nodded. "You girls go in the hall right there." He said and pointed to the area where he had first heard me sing.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay." I said and hugged her. It was easier now that I wasn't carrying my back pack and no one was looking at us.
"Mi abuela." She cried into my sweatshirt and I hummed softly. I rubbed her back and she sniffled loudly.
"What happened Miranda, you can talk to me, I promise." I said and she cried harder. "Whenever you're ready." I said softly, unsure of what to say.
"I know what could cheer you up... Andy Biersack?" I said and she was silent, her cries muffled by my sweatshirt.
"We're always running away, and we don't even stop to think about it," I sang softly, rocking us side to side. "The world's in our hands, yeah, they don't need understand." I continued, setting my chin on top of her head as I sang softly.
Her breathing was erratic, uneven, and it kind if scared me when she'd be quiet for a moment and then hiccup or gasp out of nowhere. "We do it our own way, no matter what they try to say about it..."
She sniffled softly and I reached into her bag, grabbing her waterbottle. "Here." I said and she pulled away from me.
She took the water bottle with shakey hands, and I had to hold her wrist to make sure she didn't spill it all over herself. She room a small drink before capping it and then squeezing it in her hands, looking at me with puffy, red eyes.
I kissed her forehead and she smiled smally. "You're a true friend Vanessa, god am I lucky to have you." She said and gave me a tight hug.
I chuckled and nodded as I hugged her back. "I'm here whenever you need me." I told her and she sniffled.
"Know what I need?" I shook my head and she looked at me. "Emo music, lots of pizza, chocolate cookies, and love."
"Sounds like something I may be able to help with." I said and she smiled. "How about we get back in class, and at lunch I'll ask Luke to go to the store so we can mess around in the kitchen?" I asked and she hugged me again.
"What did I do to deserve a friend like you?"
"You talked to me first." I said and she nodded as she laughed.
-
"What are we doing?" Luke asked as Escape The Fate played out of my phone. "Why did I have to buy all of this stuff?" He asked me and I looked at Miranda.
"We are about to cheer someone up." I said and he nodded. "Pizza, cookies, emo music, and love is on its way." I said and she smiled.
"Thanks." She said and shifted awkwardly. "Do you even know what you're doing?"
