chapter fourty

- apparently there is a rumour going around that Luke cheated on Arzaylea and I don't care how much you dislike her or don't ship Larzaylea, but that's wrong. Cheating is wrong no matter who does it. I have lost to much respect for Luke if he cheated on her, and if the rumour is fake, I've lost respect for whoever(s) started it xx -

Vanessa's point of view

"Arzaylea and Luke is here." Michael told me and I looked up from my homework. "They need to talk to you."

"Oh um... okay." I said and nodded, closing my notebook and setting it down. I got off of the bed and Michael smiled smally.

"Don't be scared."

"You don't understand how scary Luke is when he's angry... or how fucked up he made me after explaining why I'm even here with you guys." I said and he shrugged as I pushed my glasses up.

"I'll be in here if you need a hug and a friend, go on." He said and I smiled thanking him. I walked to the living room and I saw them whispering to each other.

"Luke it's not going to work."

"It has to."

"It's not. She hates us, end of story. Might as well let Michael adopt her at this point."

"Hey." I said and they looked at me. "Haven't seen you two in a minute." I told them because last time I saw then was when Uncle Steven was here...

That was last week on Wednesday, it's Friday today.

"I'm sorry, I thought you'd hate us so we kind of backed off a bit." Arzaylea said and I nodded. "We didn't want to try if we would have gotten shot down."

"Great idea, that would have happened." I told them honestly and Luke looked at me. "Hi Luke."

"Hey Nessa." He said and looked down. "So, we stopped by to apologize. Before you tell us to leave, please just listen. I know Arz doesn't have that much to apologize for, it's mostly me, please just listen to us." He told me and I nodded, standing awkwardly because although I really wanted to hear his apology, I felt awkward under their gaze.

"I fucked up a lot, I know that. I wasn't ready for this, I didn't know what to do, I didn't want to get attached, and I know it messed with your feelings. I was hot and cold and I was just the overall Katy Perry song, I know. Also, what I said, as truthful as it was, I know I shouldn't have said it in-in that manner, I was just so confused and upset at the time that I wasn't thinking." He told me and I looked down, nearly tearing up because I'm a cry baby.

"Vanessa, I can't turn back time and just restart from the beginning, I know you hate me for fucking up so much, but I'm really sorry. I genuinely meant that we're a family now, Arzaylea, you, and I. It probably never seemed so, but I really did mean it and I will forever mean it, regardless of how many more mistakes I may make." He told me and I looked at them as Arzaylea spoke up.

"We put you on a tough position, always leaving for 'work' and just recently with the constant arguing. We were just having some problems, I promise we're over it now. You won't have to hideaway or runaway because of us, I promise you. I'm sorry we lied to you and I'm sorry that we'd do stupid stuff like smoking and drinking when you were just upstairs." She told me and smiled. "We're really sorry. We're shitty people who barely tried back then but now, we're really ready to start being a family, if-if you still want too."

I nodded after a long, tense moment, and they smiled, engulfing me in a hug. I hugged them back and cried a bit because I couldn't help it. "Glad my make-up is waterproof." Arzaylea said and I laughed as Luke rubbed my back.
