Vanessa's point of view

"I don't think being out in public would be a great idea." I told him and he shrugged as he fixed his sunglasses. "Not when you want to deny rumours."

"I'm actually debating that. After Michael and Ashton's dumb move at retweeing and favoriting articles, it's out." He said and I nodded. "Have you been on Twitter?"

"Not to recently no."

"It's team Michael and team Ashton currently, those with it and those against it." He told me and I shrugged as I tightened my messy ponytail.

"I would have been better off not knowing that was happening." I said and he shrugged, telling me that it's better I know now.

"Jack, 'lowkey' said that he ships it, along with the rest of the band. Doesn't help but I thought it'd share." He told me and I laughed as he held my hand.

"Of course he does, we're cute." I said and he nodded. "We're my own otp-"

"Not."

"Yeah, Larry is still top." I said and he chuckled. "Sorry Cal, we're cute but Larry is realer than anything, everything." I told him and he agreed with me.

"Thanks for wearing these with me." He said, his pinky messing with the ring around my finger. "Means a lot. My dad asked me to be a little more open about our culture and stuff and it seriously means a lot."

"Anything to help you feel more comfortable." I said and he smiled at me. "It's really pretty." I told him honestly and he agreed, looking at his pinky.

"Urgh, I feel like I look dead." I said and he shook his head. "I have no make-up on, my hair is in a ponytail so messy it's borderline unpresentable, and my glasses are dirty-how the hell-"

"You look great, with make-up and without make-up, I promise." He said and I nodded. "So, about that prom... do you need a dress?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I don't even know if I want to go." I said honestly and he nodded. "Like... I'm not interested in him, I'd love to keep him company but the idea of getting all dressed up just to go to some school dance is kind of making me iffy." I told him and he nodded.

"How about, I buy you a dress for the dance, and after we can go hang out?" He said and shrugged. "If not, I guess you could always skip the dance and head out with me."

"Giving me the option of swimming with sharks and I'd probably take that over standing awkwardly with a bunch of seniors and juniors." I said and sighed. "I hope Keath understands." I said and he shrugged.

"I hope so too." He said and chuckled as we walked into the mall. "Want a smoothie?" I shook my head and he shrugged. "I do."

"Gonna get that banana smoothie?" I teased and he laughed as he waited in line. "You like bananas don't you Calum?"

"Yes but not that much." He said and winked. "That's Michael."

"Malum is real." I said and he rolled his eyes as I pulled my shirt down. "Do you mind playing a game with me Calum?"

"What game?"

"Which fangirl is going to come running to us first? Is it the one in the flannel or the one in the band tee?" I asked and he looked around.
