It took the doctors and his parents at least five minutes to pry Mason off Lauren's body. He refused to let go, sobbing. Finally he gave up and let his mom push him into the car.

"I can't believe you." His mother scolded. "I told you, Lauren was a bad influence."

He shook his head. "Mom, it's not her fault. It was my idea to run away."

"Bullshit!" She called. "We all know that she made you do it."

    "No, she didn't" He whispered.

She rolled her eyes. "Anyway, when I'll drop you off at home, I'm going to the store with Zoey. We're getting things for Lauren's funeral."

"You hated Lauren, why you planning her funeral?" He demanded.

She shrugged. "Her mother is a nice woman. I'm sorry that she spent thirteen years raising that disspointment."

He felt the tears coming back again. "She's fourteen, mother. And she isn't a disappointment, she is amazing."

"Correction," She noted. "She wasn't a disappointment." At that moment, they pulled in the driveway. He ran out and screamed to his mother:

"You thought you knew her! But you didn't. Sure she was different, doesnt mean she was bad! She was beautiful, sweet, caring, talented, my best friend and I love her!" He then shut the door and run into the house, leaving his mother shocked.

He slammed the door behind him and leaned against the door, hands through his hair. He felt the tears escaping his eyes this time, but this time he wasn't afraid.

He looked at his phone all the pictures he took of them. They were perfect, she was perfect. The time they went swimming in the pool by Lauren's apartment, the time he almost killed her while learning how to skateboard. It was all too much. He threw his phone at the bed and fell down and sobbed.

He looked back to his wrists, looked at the cuts that were almost healed. They mocked him, taunted him. He just wanted so bad to re-open them.

For some reason unknown, he didn't.

He realized something: It took him sixteen years to realize it, but Lauren was the reason he was alive. She was the one God wanted him to be with.

He wasn't happy until he saw her that day on fourth of July. He loved her spiked bracelets, her pink streaks, her Black Veil Brides shirt, her green eyes, everything was beautiful about her. But now she was gone, and everything turned into the dumps.

He looked out his window, looked at the huge woods across the street. He and Lauren would climb trees there. All of a sudden, he knew what to do. He grabbed a bungee chord from the garage, his phone and ran out the door.
