When Mason and Lauren's family was called to the hospital, they were excited that they finally turned themselves in and that they were gonna be okay.

      Well, at least Mason was.

After three hours in the hospital, Bree was released then taken to jail for abducting minors, and the bullet was lodged inside Lauren's chest so deep and she lost so much blood she was put on life support.

Mason left the hospital room after a day, and he convinced his parents to let him visit Lauren in the E.R. a few days after the whole incident.

It terrified him, seeing her hooked up to all those machines and those needles inside her. He wanted to tell the doctor that she had a phobia of needles, but he knew that wouldn't change anything.

He looked at her, she looked miserable. Her heartbeat was barely steady and her eyes were losing their colors.

He held her hand for a little bit before he said, "I'm sorry. It's my fault you're here." He stared to cry as he quitely sang her favorite song:

You're so beautiful, but that's not why I love you.  I'm not sure you know, but the reason I love you is you, being you, just you. And the reason I love you is all that we've been through. And that's why I love you.

He could've sworn he saw her smile. "I love you." She finally whispered.

He was stunned but replied with, "I love you too, Lauren." He leaned down and kissed her lips once more.

The heart monitor went off, and the line went straight. And stayed that way.
