I hope you guys enjoy this chapter.
While you read this, please keep in mind the fact that Damien and Juliet have a confusing relationship right now. She's human who isn't used to any relationships (especially not a supernatural one) and he's a werewolf who wants to protect her and sometimes the only way he thinks he can is by keeping her at a distance.
The bond between them can only take them so far. Love (if they ever get there) has to take them the rest of the way.
Don't forget to vote, comment and fan, my darlings.

I was a breathless mess as Damien pulled away and once I'd noticed that his cheeks seemed pinker than usual, my fingers automatically flew up to trace the outline of my mouth.
"I..." Damien trailed off and then cleared his throat, his expression hardening as he avoided my gaze. "I should go," he muttered and then, before I could say another word, he pushed away from me and refused to spare me a glance as he left the room. A resigned sigh left my lips as the door banged shut behind him.
Maybe that kiss didn't mean anything to him. I bitterly thought as I sagged against the wall. When I heard another knock, I rushed to throw the door open and couldn't help it when my shoulders slumped forward with disappointment.
"Nice to see you too," Cynthius chuckled, folding his arms over his chest as he eyed me suspiciously. "Are you...uh..." I rolled my eyes and expectantly leant against the doorframe with raised eyebrows. "Right. Well there's a mission and Isaac wants to see you," he cleared his throat and tilted his head, gesturing for me to lead the way. I nodded and once I'd grabbed my gun and my jacket from my bed, I left the room, intensely aware that Damien and Rhea were leaving his room at the same time. Without looking at either of them, Cynthius and I strode toward Isaac's office, our arms lightly brushing as we walked.
As soon as we entered his office, Isaac straightened in his seat and respectfully bowed his head.
"I've called you all here for an extremely important mission," he confidentially spoke up when Damien, Rhea, Orion and Cynthia had all entered the room. I offered them all a tight smile when Cynthia bumped her shoulder against mine and animatedly grinned from beside me. "Rhea has informed us that she was scouting another warehouse on the outskirts of our territory when she taken," Isaac nodded to Rhea and I noticed her fingers curl into tight fists at her side.
"I was working a missing persons case," Rhea addressed the room, her eyes calmly meeting every gaze but mine. "Five human women have disappeared and in every case, witnesses have described the attackers in the same way –black eyes and blood," she glanced at me briefly and then focused on Damien.
"Forced claims," Cynthius nodded thoughtfully and in my peripheral vision I noticed him take a peek at me. "They're getting... popular."
"Well it was bound to happen," Rhea commented with a sigh as she placed her hands on her hips. "Everyone knows that when a werewolf successfully has a child with a human, the child is stronger. Even though it can't shift into its wolf, it's just as powerful as us and is completely immune to the effects of silver. The fact finding a true mate is rarer than ever before doesn't exactly help."
Well I certainly didn't know that.
"But when mated to a human the werewolf isn't as strong as they are when mated to another werewolf. I doubt they're all planning on waiting around for their children to take over," Damien harshly argued.
