Hey there, my darlings,
I hope you're having a wonderful day! As a 'thank you' for the 1800 reads, I thought I'd upload early. This chapter is basically one of the ones you've all been waiting for so, to show your love, please comment your thoughts! (:
Oh! Just so you all know, every now and then I'll post a little 'character recap' reminding you of everyone in my story. So if you're forgetful or I just haven't mentioned someone in a while, don't stress! There will be recaps in future chapters.
Zac Efron (imo) = Perfection.
If you don't agree, go eat a cup. Okay, so I'm kidding about the cup. Use the cup to make yourself a nice, deserving, hot (or warm or...cold?) cup of tea (or coffee or... whatever) while you picture whoever you want as Damien because I honestly do not mind one little bit (;

"I'm assuming that you didn't know your friend-" Damien emphasised the last word as he hissed in my ear, "was a Warlock and a Hunter." I tensed as I stood beside him and shot him a wry glare before swiftly focusing my attention back to Isaac.
"If you need anything, feel free to let them know," Isaac told Jason before he abruptly tilted his head toward where Damien and I lingered by the door. When Jason glanced over his shoulder at us, a large smile formed on my lips. "While your request to transfer here is...unexpected –having someone with your abilities is welcomed," despite his enthusiastic words, Isaac sounded as emotionless and cold as always.
What's with this guy? I silently wondered while Jason bowed his head with gratitude.
"He got here ten minutes ago and already he's one of us? This is ridiculous," Damien lowly scoffed with a scowl and then, without another word, he turned and stalked from the room. As the door slammed behind me, I bit down on my bottom lip and glared at the ground, my fists clenching as I forced myself not to follow my instincts by going after him.
"Well someone's had a bad night," Jason light heartedly joked as he stared at the door.
At his words, I reactively shot him a cold glare and when Jason's eyebrow arched in surprise, I took a calming, deep breath in and focused my attention on Isaac. I then bowed my head and offered Jason an apologetic, uneasy smile, surrendering to my feelings.
I'll catch up with you, I softly and internally promised before suddenly dashing from the room and down the hall. I ran to find Damien and when I jogged to his side, our clothed shoulders brushed and his rigid body instantly relaxed. "He really is just a friend," I gently insisted, studying the side of Damien's face as we walked.
"I... know," he sighed, tiredly scraping his hands through his dark hair as he stared blankly ahead. When a group of hooting Hunters rounded the corner and strode toward us, Damien quickly created space between us and stiffened once again. As the Hunters passed, they all gave Damien and I a short nod before continuing with their loud conversation.
"So where 's Rhea?" I changed the subject, frowning as I recalled how Cynthius had taken her from Damien's arms and sauntered away without a word the moment we entered the compound.
"To the medical bay. She's in good hands there. I wouldn't be surprised if she went home by the end of the week," he lowly admitted as we rounded another corner. "I'm heading to see her now."
