Chapter 27 The Last Goodbye

Natsu's P.O.V

. . .

It was too late. She already left. On the tenth step, there was a glass slipper. I picked it up. This most be Lucy's. I watch the carriage as it leaves the castle. There is a question that I really wanted an answer to ' Will we ever see each other again? '.

" Prince Natsu, why are you outside? What's going on? " One of the guards asked me. I turned around to face them. I was still holding Lucy's glass slipper.

" That was Lucy...she was the one that I wanted to marry... But...she ran away. I wonder why. I still haven't confessed to her. And if I did...I would want everything to go well and as I expected. But...it's too late. I'm not sure if I'll see her again or not. But, I still have a feeling inside of me...telling me that we'll meet again. And if this is our last memory together, so be it. If this is the only thing that I'll remember her by...then so be it. There is still hope and I know Fate will decided what's gonna happen next. " I said, smiling and holding Lucy's glass slipper, closer to my heart. 

Lucy's P.O.V 

I stare outside my window. I told the driver to go faster. And finally we arrived to the mansion. I got down from the carriage and everything went back to normal. The four horses and the driver turned back into mice. The carriage turned back to a pumpkin. And then my dress turned back to the way it was before. The one that Natsu gave me. But now, it's all ripped up and ruined. I watch as the magic slowly faded away. I walked into the mansion. I washed up and changed into my regular clothes. I put the dress that Natsu gave me, into a box. I put the box inside somewhere in my closet. After that, I headed downstairs to sweep the floor, that way when they come in, they won't think that I look ' suspicious '. 

They walked in and Princess Lisanna let out a big sigh. " *Sigh* Why couldn't I be the one that Prince Natsu was gonna marry? I mean, can't he marry someone else, since that girl just ran away. " Her words made my eyes widen. The girl who ran away, was me...right?

" Who was that girl anyways? " Princess Minerva asked. 

" I know right! But who was she?! She looked really pretty! And her dress was flawless! I'm so jealous! " Princess Lisanna yelled, as they all walked up the stairs. They entered their rooms. I sighed. I put the broom back and then I headed upstairs. I walked over to my room. Before I went to bed, I remembered something that Natsu said to me before I left...

~Flashback~

" When will we see each other again? " Natsu asked me. 

 I stopped walking. I didn't reply. Then I walked over to the carriage. 

~End of Flashback~

The truth is...I'm not sure if we'll ever meet again. But I have this feeling inside of me, telling me that everything will be fine and that we'll be able to see each other again. I believe that there is still hope for me. I smiled and I went to sleep. 

~One Week Later...~

It's been a week since I last saw Natsu. I wonder how's he doing. He must have found someone better to marry than me. He probably has an arranged marriage by now. He won't marry me anyways. I feel differently about him. As I was watering the flower's in the garden outside the mansion, Mira came over to me and said, " Hey Lucy! How's been? " She even had a smile on her face.
